Bleacher Report ^ | 7-24-22 | ROB GOLDBERG

Google is reportedly the latest company to make a bid for NFL's Sunday Ticket starting in 2023, according to Tripp Mickle, Kevin Draper and Benjamin Mullin of the New York Times (h/t Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk)

If a deal is completed, NFL games would be streamed on YouTube, which is owned by Google.

Apple, Amazon and Disney are among the other companies bidding for the NFL rights, which are owned by DirecTV through the 2022 season.

"A number of companies are in strong position to potentially land Sunday Ticket, but we still have a ways to go in this process," NFL media executive Brian Rolapp told the New York Times.

Rolapp still expects a deal to be finalized "in the coming months."

The country doesn’t care about the NFL’s wokeness. $3 billion for the ticket? That’s why.

I just want to be able to watch my team where ever I am in the US without drinking for 3 hours.

Uh, let's not go overboard here. The WNBA ranks behind Western Idaho Professional Tiddlywinks Association. Nampa has a real shot this year...

I was never much of a fan of professional sports, but I definitely would not be taking an interest in any professional sports or any entertainment complexes.

At the very least sports betting will keep them afloat for years to come.

No doubt. I have resisted the idea for a while, but I work with a guy that has been successful with. If I can make a buck, or two….

Gambling keeps pro sports going now. if I want to watch Cleveland Guardians baseball I have to pay about 70 bucks a month to an online gambling/casino company.

So, is it the drinking for 3 hours bothering you or the blackout dates and backdoor conniving cable company deals where a person SHOULD be able to watch EVERY SINGLE GAME of the team of their choice without going through any hoops?

You can watch every game of your choice with Sunday Ticket, Cable or Satellite, ESPN, ABC, CBS, NBC, AMAZON PRIME, and next year possibly YouTube. Yes it does cost money but for the price of a family 4 going to a game you can have all the above for a year and enjoy all the other stuff they offer.

I lost my attraction to NFL football years ago. My level of interest is about 0.1% of what it was 30 years ago.

That said, my girlfriend and I toured Lambeau Field (the “Legendary Home Stadium of the Green Bay Packers”) this past week. I hate to say it, but I was moved to tears at points during the tour, mainly in the Packers Hall of Fame.

It brought back many memories that hadn’t crossed my mind in decades. Names, faces, and moments that were so important to me in what seems like another lifetime.

There is a place in society for things like the NFL. Wokeness needs to remain far removed for the NFL to remain viable.

For what it’s worth, GO PACK GO!!

“Gambling keeps pro sports going now.”

People will bet on anything. When they outlawed cock fighting in Arizona, people were caught wren fighting.

During the tour, they had us come out of some preferred club room and sit in three rows of nicely padded seats above the famed south end zone.

There were 34 of us in our tour group. They had us all stand up, cup our hands around our mouths, and yell “GO PACK GO” at the top of our lungs, and told us to listen after we yelled. The measly little 34 of us yelling to an empty stadium echoed back from the north side. We filled Lambeau with sound, just with our 34 voices. We did that three times. It was awesome, and it was the highlight of the tour for me. If 34 of us can make Lambeau echo, imagine what 81,000 can do.
