Brother of Capitol police officer who died after the January 6 riot says Trump riled up his 'sycophants' at Ellipse rally

During an interview on CNN's "New Day," Ken Sicknick — the brother of the late officer Brian D. Sicknick — told reporter Kaitlan Collins of his frustrations with the revelations from Thursday's January 6 committee hearing.

The question remains of what Trump was doing for the more than three hours between 1:10 p.m., when the then-president was ending his remarks at the Ellipse

-snip

"We are focusing on the fact that he just didn't act at all for three hours, which is just absolutely ridiculous," Ken Sicknick said on CNN. "For the first time in a long time, I'm angry from seeing it again and realizing that he did nothing."

He continued: "Overall, we should be focused on the fact that he started this whole thing to begin with. So yeah, he's at fault for not stopping it, but he's really at fault for riling up the crowds and getting his sycophants following whatever word he said. I'd like to focus on the fact that he's responsible for it happening in the first place.

"Ken Sicknick then called out Trump what he said was the former president's lack of concern about the country.

"It's obvious to me that his existence in the White House had nothing to do with helping the country, had nothing to do with looking out for the best interest of the country," he said.

"The silence of the three hours? It could have been him stuck, deciding whether to say something. But ultimately it was him covering his rear end and him making sure that he was in power and that he could not admit to anything happening and I can't comprehend him not doing a thing to stop that. He knew what was going on minutes after his little rally," he added.

Aren’t you suffering from the lack of oxygen?

From a cranial-rectal inversion?

It’s self-evident.

{sniff! sniff!}

Yep, I smell it. It’s only been here about three months before blowing its cover. I guess this is a temp job.

From what I recall, she shacked up with some libertarian or conservative at the time.

She discredited herself.

Trump wanted troops there. Pelosi struck him down. Talk to Nancy.

“Conservatives are now banned in Dee Cee??!!”

You don’t see what happened to conservatives who went to DC for Trump? Many have been in jail for 16 months without trial.

Trump was selfish to summon supporters to that snake pit of a city. Notice none of his own family joined the match to the Capitol. They realized the danger. Too bad Trump didn’t think about the danger he was putting his followers in.

“Trump wanted troops there.”

Yes, and when Pelosi (and McConnell) said no, Trump still sent his supporters to the Capitol. He realized there was danger - or he wouldn’t have asked for troops. Yes I blame Nancy and Mitch for declining Trumps request, but once they did so he shouldn’t have put his supporters in danger by sending them to the Capitol anyway. . Extremely bad judgment. Reckless. And selfish - none of his kids and family marched with his followers to the Capitol. They weren’t going to risk their hides.

I was there and I was thinking about the danger that the stolen election put the country in. No Trump supporters from the elipse entered the Capitol on the East side where the provacateurs were operating.

I can’t blame DJT for the actions of agents provocateurs in the crowd. They were there to exploit mob psychology for their own ends. The event having been announced beforehand, as it necessarily must have been, gave them plenty of lead time. However...smart people should have been aware that this would happen. Matt Bracken knew, and he warned people.

When all those fail it’s the fault of his most trusted advisor (per Trump) his daughter and her husband. I’ve even seen Oz blamed on his wife. It is ridiculous.

Trump was still speaking when the supposed “breach” of a public building happened when the police let people into the building.
Try again, troll.

Say, we’ve met before.

The statement he made (that I outlined), reminds me of the idiots that were claiming (and believed) Bush2 was in that classroom reading the kids a story with the book upside down.
Both of these incidents were on video, but they are blind to the obvious truth.
