Trump or DeSantis: Who Is the Man for the Times?
American Thinker ^ | 21 Jul, 2022 | Dex Bahr

Posted on 07/21/2022 4:00:56 AM PDT by MtnClimber

Is it time to move on from Trump? Or is DeSantis in need of more seasoning?

Elon Musk recently declaring that we need to move on from President Donald Trump is the latest example of chatter I have noticed lately on the news and conservative blogs about why we need to do an about-face to Governor Ron DeSantis as our presidential nominee in 2024.

The question is whether this conversation is from the people or manufactured by Deep State operatives.

As of the writing of this piece, Trump has not officially declared whether he's even going to seek the nomination in 2024, but you wouldn't know that from all the hand-wringing. So, for now this is just a hypothetical comparison.

First, I am a big Governor DeSantis fan. He is showing what strong state leadership looks like and how it is possible to constitutionally resist a tyrannical federal government. DeSantis has been a profile in courage, toughness, sensibility, and even love as he stands for the citizens of Florida. He is the living embodiment of a patriotic executive.

Governor DeSantis has what it takes to be president and would likely be an effective leader of the free world...but not in 2024. DeSantis needs to stay in Florida for now, build on the gains he has made for that state, and instill the habit in the minds of Floridians of what normal governance looks like. This, so they don't screw up and elect another politician in the vein of Charlie Christ or Andrew Gillum (Florida really dodged a bullet with that clown).

More LIES FROM THE LEFT who want to divide what may very well be Trump's Presidential team w/ DeSantis as VP.

DeSantis vs. Trump would look somethin like this (Trump of course is the mountain).

Meanwhile, is American Thinker working for the Left now or is it just Dex Bahr?

If DeSantis is half the Patriot people believe him to be, he’ll dampen all these Leftist efforts to create division between him and Trump by either declaring he’s remaining in Florida or is willing to be Trump’s running mate or both.

If DeSantis wants AMERICA FIRST and his political career second, he’ll do that. And if he does and shows that he will stand up to Leftist lies, deceit and attacks, then that will make an even more bona-fide VP for Trump who will the probable choice in 2028.

"Good lord -- you must be joking. That guy is the personification of a corporate globalist."

Listen to the Podcast, he's more nationalist / Libertarian like PDJT. Small business roots, detailed in the Podcast. Yes he played on the Intl Stage, but you ought to hear him speak of worldwide natural resources, the mistakes we made, and what we aren't doing here...

"So, we dump Trump for this guy?"

Niko's love or hate Chernovich he said something prescient about 2 months ago on Twitter. He noted the rallye's are like an 80's rock band doing the oldies and he's constantly humping how they came up with the Vax and was kind of hinting he's out of touch or is he slowing down. That's a ballsy thing to say, however Mike was the 1st to warn about the Transgender issue hitting America in a big way. What I am saying is Chernovich is usually 5 yrs ahead of everybody else with his volley's across the bow, I am passing it along in a round about way, and guy like Prince IMHO would fit the role but will never get out of the starting blocks. We are screwed again.

His company has made a fortune supporting military campaigns carried out by the U.S. and foreign governments all over the world. And in the case of the U.S., I voted for Donald Trump because he was the only candidate who came out and said the U.S. had no business fighting those stupid wars in the first place.

Or boosting Trump’s ego getting him nominated a 3rd time, and then losing the general election?

Sad to see you come to that conclusion Travis.

Have always thought better of you.

The top priority for 2024 is straight forward - WIN !!! If WINNING is the top priority, then the question is who gives us the best chance. Trump’s conservative credentials and policies are great, as are DeSantis’. But that’s where the comparison ends:
- Nobody energizes Dems and the media more emotionally than Trump. They will show up to vote for the Dem out of their deep hatred of Trump. They won’t like DeSantis, but he won’t press their buttons like Trump does.
- We are going to need a decent share of independents and women in order to win, and Trump still doesn’t poll very good with either. DeSantis does.
- Trump is stuck on 2020 while voters have moved on, and are concerned about what is happening to them now and what the candidate is going to do to fix things going forward. The media will bate him with 2020 questions, and he will take the bate. DeSantis is always focused on the present and the future.
- Except for the conservative base, people in general seem tired of the drama Trump generates. A lot of the time, the drama is unnecessary and counterproductive. DeSantis doesn’t come with all the Trump drama.

If Trump and DeSantis go head to head, I think DeSantis would win. If there are multiple candidates in a primary, Trump’s chances increase significantly - multiple challengers will spit the vote in Trumps favor. Whoever ends up with the nomination I will support, but we badly need to WIN in 2024.

I want the post-2022 elections to obtain a GOP House majority in Congress, and that House majority make Trump Speaker of the House, where he leads the GOP in Congress all through 2023 and 2024, and wherefrom he supporss Desantis for President in 2024, and where Trump remains after Desantis is elected. With Trump in charge in the House he has the power to investigate and expose all the crimes and lies of Pelosi, Schiff and Biden that Biden’s DOJ will not do.

Travis is cight. Even if nominated and elected, Donald Reump will never take Office. The Republicans and Democrats will do whatvere necessart to prevent him from doing that. Including assassination and starting a nuclear war. And they will be the same civil war they had when they executed a Coup, stole the election, and kicked him out of the White House in 2020....none. The Republican Party will destroy the Nation before they will allow President Trump to be President again. The Republican Party hates Donald Trump and his supporters as the Washington, D.C. jails will attest to. And looks forward to the day they can eliminate them. But the Trump supporters refuse to acknoeledge this and continte to lick their hands and boots. As the Republican voters in South Carolina continue to re-elect Lindsey Graham, an individual who despises them. And they will continue to re-elect him into Infinity.

No, I don’t. Mom is friends with him and his wife, they always kibitz when he comes down this way and they email back and forth.
She likes the guy and supports him completely, but she also was a big supporter of Curtis Hill before him. When he was getting trashed by the press mom was furious because she knew the inside story of what happened, and more importantly WHY it happened. (can you say setup??)
This abortion crap falling on him now is BS, he will be a candidate for Governor and it’s best to start slinging mud now to see what sticks. His job falls directly in line with the doctor that did the 10 year old girl, and she is a huge advocate and there’s been questions about her “practice” long before this pile hit the fan aimed at him.

Trump as Speaker of the House in 2022 and then Desantis as President in 2024 would be absolutely great! I wish they would do this.

“Trump as Speaker of the House in 2022 and then Desantis as President in 2024 would be absolutely great! I wish they would do this.”

Giving Trump Pelosi’s podium, and its news making ability, and with it House investigations of Pelosi, Schiff and Biden, to make up for what Biden’s DOJ refuses to do, would serve the GOP well in 2024 by further and honestly discrediting the whole Dim party.
