GREENWOOD, Ind. — Within 15 seconds of a mass shooter opening fire inside the Greenwood Park Mall, Elisjsha Dicken got off 10 rounds, striking the shooter 8 times, and killing him.
Police say Dicken was shopping with his girlfriend Sunday at the mall when he stopped at a cookie counter close to the main walkways of the mall. When the gunman exited the restroom, beginning his shooting spree, police say what he did was nothing short of heroic.
Armed only with a handgun, police say Dicken first engaged the shooter from a distance of 40 yards. Police say he was very proficient and tactically sound.
According to police, Dicken hit the shooter from 40 yards away with his 9mm Glock on the very first shot. Johnson County Coroner Mike Pruitt said an autopsy found the suspect had eight gunshot wounds and none were self-inflicted. He fired 10 shots with an 80 percent strike rate.
Dicken started making his way towards the gunman, motioning for people to leave behind him. The gunman tried to retreat back into the restroom, but Dicken continued on, shooting the suspect until he fell.
“The surveillance video shows Sapirman exit the restroom at 5:56:48 p.m.,” Ison said. “He was neutralized by Dicken 15 seconds later at 5:57:03 p.m.”
Police took him to the Greenwood Police Department while they watched the security video and spoke with other witnesses to confirm what Dicken told them. During the whole process, police say Dicken fully cooperated.
Dicken had no police training or military background.
Police also confirmed Dicken was carrying a gun under the constitutional carry law that went into effect July 1.
Our club is about 50 miles west of us, but it’s worth the drive if we make a day of it. Then there’s the BBQ place on the way home. Simply outstanding.
I still keep my hand in at 600 but it ain’t as easy as it used to be.

We set up on the back porch and shoot at a target down by the gate going into one of our pastures. Measured 104 yards. 16-inch steel hanging target. I have NEVER hit it with a handgun (of any kind). Can ping it and make it swing all day with a “rifle”....
I usually do 50 feet and always hit the target. 40 yards, 120 feet is impressive
There’s something about a day at the range that works up an appetite. I had to go to optics to be able to keep my hand in at the rifleman’s quarter mile. These 71 year old Mark 1s ain’t what they used to be.

Unbelievable. He did more in 15 seconds than the cops in Uvalde did in an hour and one half . . .
Consider the results if this young man had not heroically acted to neutralize the shooter. How many more people would have been killed by this maniac before law enforcement arrived? Even if law enforcement had promptly arrived would they have quickly subdued the shooter or would it have been another case like the Texas school shooting where the police dithered while more people died?
The anti gun media seems to have given this story a quick burial. We have also not heard the usual lamentations from the anti gun celebrity crowd nor calls from politicians and the White House to end Constitutional concealed carry. Even mall officials have congratulated the heroic young man for ending the carnage, despite his defiance of their ridiculous gun free zone policy

The Left is very angry that their mass casualty event was thwarted by a good guy with a gun. This totally busts their narrative so you are going to hear very little about it in the lamestream media.
I noticed that even FOX has pretty much ignored it.

I thought the value of “…a good guy with a gun…” is a myth. I’m so confused. I wish they’d go back to the public figures who made that statement after Uvalde would be asked by the MSM if they wish to revise and extend their comments.

Not to diminish Greenwood’s heroic act, but 40 yards might be an exaggeration. Great shooting though! 8 of 10 hit the target in 15 seconds. If I took my sweet time I might not make that.
