Biden says he 'strongly supports' bill that will codify the right to contraception that Congress will vote on this week and again warns Roe v. Wade will have 'far-reaching consequences on women's health'

President Joe Biden on Monday said he 'strongly support's a House bill that would codify the right to contraception.

The Biden administration put out a statement of support for the Right to Contraception Act, which the House will vote on this week as part of a slew of legislation Democrats are passing to protect reproductive rights.

In the statement, Biden again warned the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade would have 'far-reaching consequences' on women's health.

'The Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs, which overturned Roe v. Wade and eliminated a constitutional right to choose, has already had devastating implications for women's health and public health,' the administration said in a statement.

The Right to Contraception Act allows people to obtain and use contraceptives, and protects healthcare providers' ability to provide contraceptives and relevant information to patients.

The goal is to protect all contraceptives approved by the Food and Drug Administration, including oral and emergency contraceptives, intrauterine devices and condoms.

I am happy Congress and the President need to now codify what was previously allowed by a judicial ruling.

“...right to contraception...”

I must have crossed over in “The Matrix” because when I read stuff like this it is utterly stupid. What the hell is a “right to contraceptive”? No one is being denied this “right”....and I’m not paying for this so called “right”. What a freaking joke!

So Xiden, the devout Catholic, whose church calls any form of birth control except, abstinence, and the rhythm-system supports this? I don’t think he understands what the word “Devout” means.

Yeah, they’re so full of crap...

WHEN was contraception ever denied to a person? I don’t get it. NOW we need Congress to tell us we can use it?

Since the Surpreme Court has ruled the Constitution contains no Constitutional mandate for any federal intervention on states’ abortion laws, such a legal gap cannot be bridged merely with Congressional (House and Senate) legislation.

The pro-abortion agenda is again trying to get around the hard and long slog of obtaining a Constitutional amendment to legally establish their position. Congressional and/or executive action cannot get around the “democracy” requirments of formally amending the Constitution.

“Whose church calls any form of contraception except abstinence and the rhythm-system a sin supports this?”

Abstinence and Natural Family Planning Unless they are caught in a time warp, no one officially associated with the Church has advocated “the Rhythm Method” since at least the early 1980’s.

No legal authority. They're simply inviting SCOTUS to go back and toss all the "right to privacy" emanations onto the same trash heap as Roe.

I believe the focus of this bill is on codifying access to the “morning after” pill and pills that induce abortion.
