Police footage captures the moment a Florida county official was pulled over in June for speeding in his Ferrari while attempting to slyly get out of the ticket by stating 'I run the county.'
Flagler County Commission Chairman Joe Mullins was spotted being pulled over for speeding in his red Ferrari for what appeared to be the second time, Fox 29 reported.
The police car dash cam captured the moments when the officer pulled him over on Interstate 95 - including the moment he interrupted the officer to make his professional title known.
The footage shows the unknown officer following Mullins for 20 seconds until the chairman abruptly pulls over.
The audio from the video was slightly muffled as the highway traffic in the background continued.
'I didn't realize,' Mullins can be heard saying as the officer explained he was traveling at 92 mph.
The pair can be briefly heard talking over the ongoing traffic as the officer asks Mullins for his license and registration. The officer then traveled back to his car to process Mullins' information before returning the Ferrari five minutes later.
'So, 92 miles an hour is 22 over the speed limit, ok?,' the officer explained. 'Normally, I give warnings. I give breaks - but it looks like you've been written a warning already, so I do issue the citation. With that being said, it's gonna be payable within 30 days.'
The officer proceeded to explain the citation to Mullins until he was interrupted.
'I'm sorry?' the officer said.
Mullins then answered, 'I run the county so I know how that works.'
The officer responded uncertain of Mullins professional, 'You run the county?'
Mullins answered, 'Yeah, I'm the chairman of the county commission.'

If you are high enough on the political ladder, the laws don’t apply to you.
“DON’T YOU KNOW WHO I THINK I AM?!?!?”
It is obvious that most of the posts are by individuals who have not read the entire post.
The commissioner did not make the statement until AFTER the officer was explaining the ticket.
Never thought...I'd disagree with you.
The commissioner should have kept his mouth shut and taken his punishment quietly like an average citizen.
So what?
> I can’t believe the elites are still playing the old “Don’t you know who I am?” game? <
If it weren’t for cameras, he probably would have gotten away with it. But now cops know everything is being recorded, and can be made public. And that’s obviously a good thing.
Heh, I understand. Reading the exchange, I can see that “Yeah, I know how that works, I run the county” response, but even with that, if he knows how the county is run, he probably knows the ticket can’t be retracted once written. Once it is written, there is a stub the cop has to account for.
Should just accept the ticket, he was speeding.
I know his background is as a successful businessman and entrepreneur, but...a county official driving a Ferrari, getting pulled over for speeding, and using his title in some fashion is never a good look.
The Moose Out Front Should Have Told Him...:)
I've been in the support industry for over 30 years and you would be surprised to hear how many times we deal with a "know it all" who doesn't want their intelligence insulted, only to eventually find out that all along something wasn't plugged in or that a system restart would have taken care of it.
When troubleshooting, it's important to follow all the steps because it's very often something simple.

Read the entire post? Who does that? I myself follow this time-honored Freeper tradition: Once you’ve been here for 10+ years, you need only glance at the headline before making comments.
And I can’t wait until I hit my 15 year mark. Then I won’t even have to glance at the headlines.
(just kidding, of course)
You have nothing to add? I've got tp get on with my day. Duh.
From July 13, 2024: FL Dem Pulled Over, Tells Cop to 'Find Something Better to F*****g Do,' Then Speeds Off
The vice mayor of a Florida community dropped an F-bomb while rebuking a police officer who pulled her over for alleged speeding but only issued her a warning.-PJA video of the April incident was posted to YouTube last week. It shows a traffic stop that took place in Fort Lauderdale involving Democratic Pompano Beach Vice Mayor Beverly Perkins.
“What’s going on tonight?” the officer says as he walks up to the white Audi Perkins was driving.
“Nothing,” Perkins says.
“Nothing? You’re driving crazy,” the officer replies.
The officer tells Perkins she was speeding, then asks for her driver’s license. After going to his patrol vehicle, he returns to her car.
“Ms. Perkins, you need to slow down, OK? There’s going to be … a warning about speeding, OK?” the officer says. “Did you hear what I said?”
Perkins does not reply.
“Did you hear what I said? You’ve got to slow down. I’m writing you a warning for speeding tonight, OK?” the officer says.
“I am Vice Mayor Beverly Perkins from the city of Pompano Beach. Y’all need to find something better to f***ing do,” Perkins says as she speeds off.
I do try to click through to the original article but will not do so if the original article is linked to disreputable sources such as CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC, CBS, Washington Post, NY Times, etc.
In those cases, I scan the headline and take my chances with the comments.
Looks as if the trooper was doing what he was supposed to do.
Population of Flagler County: 115,000.
He’s a real estate developer. Probably has county job to facilitate development.
Yes, that’s his job. Most people don’t need or want to be lectured, no matter how courteous and professional he was being. Just write the ticket.
Please vote this jacka** out of office as quickly as possible.
The wrong thing to say to the State Trooper on a Federal Highway that goes from Bangor to Miami. My son killed on it by a Greyhound bus doing 95. I guess that’s why they call it Route 95?
