Police footage captures the moment a Florida county official was pulled over in June for speeding in his Ferrari while attempting to slyly get out of the ticket by stating 'I run the county.'
Flagler County Commission Chairman Joe Mullins was spotted being pulled over for speeding in his red Ferrari for what appeared to be the second time, Fox 29 reported.
The police car dash cam captured the moments when the officer pulled him over on Interstate 95 - including the moment he interrupted the officer to make his professional title known.
The footage shows the unknown officer following Mullins for 20 seconds until the chairman abruptly pulls over.
The audio from the video was slightly muffled as the highway traffic in the background continued.
'I didn't realize,' Mullins can be heard saying as the officer explained he was traveling at 92 mph.
The pair can be briefly heard talking over the ongoing traffic as the officer asks Mullins for his license and registration. The officer then traveled back to his car to process Mullins' information before returning the Ferrari five minutes later.
'So, 92 miles an hour is 22 over the speed limit, ok?,' the officer explained. 'Normally, I give warnings. I give breaks - but it looks like you've been written a warning already, so I do issue the citation. With that being said, it's gonna be payable within 30 days.'
The officer proceeded to explain the citation to Mullins until he was interrupted.
'I'm sorry?' the officer said.
Mullins then answered, 'I run the county so I know how that works.'
The officer responded uncertain of Mullins professional, 'You run the county?'
Mullins answered, 'Yeah, I'm the chairman of the county commission.'

He also failed to signal.
That said, the interaction was less egregious than the standard “DON’T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” exchange.
Like another poster said, the ticket had already been written, so it was a “Yeah, I know how this works already” kind of thing.
A Leftist wouldn’t have waited until the ticket was written.
From what I can tell, the county commissioner just didn’t want to be talked down to, and he was willing to pay the ticket.
Kind of like when I call an IT help desk and want to cut through the first two pages of the person’s script. I will tell him that I am an IT administrator and have done all that, please take me to the next step. I am not trying to belittle the person at the help desk who receives calls from semi-competent end-users as well as long time veterans, just trying to save both of us some time.
A red Ferrari is an uninspired choice for an upscale car.
I would bet money he made his money elsewhere, and county commission pay is more like an honorarium. Lots of local governments work that way.
Sounded to me that more than likely the County Exec didn’t want to hear the lecture and just stated that he knows how things run.
Sounds like Obama or Biden got pulled over.
No doubt a Liz Cheney Republican.
Yeah, but the “I run the county” comment has a ring of arrogance to it.
Still, a hit piece on a constitutional conservative.
Calls himself a Republican. His arrogance smells to high heavens. He should be tossed out on his ear.
That car is safer at 92mph than any domestic coupe at 70mph.
Pretty much how I see it too.
Why does this guy’s bio read like the Kliner of Kliner Industries in the series “Reacher”?
Note the brake check as the a-hole is about to be pulled over. It appears to occur before the cop was about to light him up. He knew he was speeding and was busted. The cop even can be heard muttering a profanity ($Heet) and swervig to keep from hitting the ferrari.
I am a lineman for the county
And I drive the main road
Searchin' in the sun for another overload
Well maybe, with the change in time zones and all. 🤪
He was pulled over by a State Trooper.
92 mph in a Ferrari?................. That’s it?,p>
Hell, my Maserati does 185. But I lost my license, so now I don’t drive.
It was a power struggle between the cop who wrote the ticket and the exec.
I got a gun and badge vs. I run the county.
