I don't think that's entirely true. Though not thought to be airborne like covid-19, it does spread through casual contact. Think city dwellers and people working in office.
How many people do you shake hands with? Do you know their sexual preferences? Do you know if they've shaken hands with anyone high risk?
Unlike smallpox which didn't have an animal reservoir, monkeypox can be carried by small rodents. Squirrels, ground hogs, etc. If it spreads to those animal communities it could become endemic to North America.
Fortunately, it's a DNA virus and doesn't mutate much.

Yep, the gay rights movement is just like the civil rights movement of the 1950’s and early 60s.
Remember after the civil rights act was passed and Jim-Crow laws were ended, and several years after that, black people started coming down with a deadly auto immune disease that caused open sores, weight loss, and death?
That always seems to happen whenever oppressed people are given equal rights, doesn’t it?
