I don't think that's entirely true. Though not thought to be airborne like covid-19, it does spread through casual contact. Think city dwellers and people working in office.
How many people do you shake hands with? Do you know their sexual preferences? Do you know if they've shaken hands with anyone high risk?
Unlike smallpox which didn't have an animal reservoir, monkeypox can be carried by small rodents. Squirrels, ground hogs, etc. If it spreads to those animal communities it could become endemic to North America.
Fortunately, it's a DNA virus and doesn't mutate much.

Any disease can hot anyone. But this one, like a certain one from a couple of decades ago, seems to be prevalent with a certain demographic. No shame in being honest about now or then.

So what do you propose mr scaredy-cat? Should we all be required to wear condoms? For one thing monkey pox is freaking hideous not like Covid. If someone has monkey pox you are going to know it. That gives you ample opportunity to avoid “casual contact”. This is one case where social distancing actually works.

Funny thing, if I turn my clock back to the 1980’s your posting would be EXACTLY the things being said back then about AIDS. They thought all kinds of casual contact, tables, doorknobs, toilet seats caused the spread. They even thought airborne. In the end, the PRIMARY method of spread was through unprotected random GAY SEX.
Remember GAY blood donations were stopped up until recently. Point is, this is yet another GAY specific disease. Fauci made his millions working AIDS. Never cured it, but made a BUTT LOAD of $$$$$. Who will get rich this time???
