Reason #11 why I don’t fly commercial anymore, since TWA 800 was shot down in July, 1996.

I hear the article saying that the airlines do not do much cleaning of the aircraft.

Bring your own wipes on board if the TSA doesn’t confiscate them.

Once you’ve in the lavatory abandon all hope. Don’t touch this or that is like warning people not to play with matches in hell.

Also the gate areas are full of germs too. I saw a man flossing his teeth in public with a considerable amount of flossing discharge spray. US travel is just disgusting currently.

While jetsetters opt for shorts on a plane due to increased levels of comfort,
There was a time when seasoned travelers dressed better than the other passengers, having a wardrobe that included dressy but lightweight, breathable fabrics. They had respect for themselves, and also for the people serving them and the other passengers.

Even more basic and critical - do NOT use a grocery cart flip down/out section to put food items in. I never use the big carts. Always the ones without child seats.

Wouldn't this apply to any public area? Why are airplanes singled out?
In fact, public areas are probably cleaner than most private homes.
Public areas get cleaned professionally and more frequently than the average home.

There’s no end to the hazards out there —everywhere — and that’s why I tend not to dwell on them. Otherwise I would wind up like Howard Hughes. It’s one thing to actually see the schmutz, but what if you don’t see anything? Take reasonable precautions and be of good cheer, I say.
The one time I know for sure I got sick from a plane was when a woman in front of me hacked all the way from Chicago to Philadelphia. Five days later, right before my return flight, I started feeling sick and was sick as a dog for the better part of a week.
