Uvalde active shooter response. Good analysis. Long. Worth the time. Warning: language
[[If there had been enough parents or grandparents on site who were capable and willing to do the right thing, any restraining “they” tried might have been ineffective]]
Exactly. Can you imagine how horrible the optics woild, have been if a large group.of parents tried to force their way through the cops to get to the school to save their kids, and the cops broke out the “riot gear” to prevent them, a d put the parents in handcuffs WHILE the gunman was murdering the kids?
It actually did happen to an extent, (jusy not on a large enough scale to where the left couldn’t ignore it like, theynare the few cases where parents did try to get,in) but sadly we don’t have enough gop in congress screaming about the fsct that parents were detained and prevented from saving gheir kids. All we have are a few conservative news media who bring the issue up, but it’s ineffective because the msm refuses to go after the cops for their incompetence.
If I recall the mother who got her kids out was handcuffed and being detained.
A father was pepper sprayed and handcuffed.
They were arresting the parents.
“Long. Worth the time. Warning: language”
I would prefer a written version with the foul language omitted.
I believe what was missing from the police on the scene was cleverness.
Yes, they did arrest a few. My point though is that it is a matter of degrees.
The msm are refusing to cover that though, when they should be making a huge huge deal out of it. Had most of the parents barged past the police, and the police engaged in full out “riot control” while the kids were being slaughtered by the maggot inside the school, had they been arresting enraged parents left and right, the msm would be forced to cover it because the national outrage would be massive because they would have identified with the parents desperate attempts to save their kids. Unfortunately not enough people are outraged and demanding answers because “only a few “unruly parents” (according to the left) were arrested”, and the msm has done a vile job of covering up for the incompetence by making the parents out to be hte bad guys, to be the “rogues” and people who “disobeyed police commands”
The far left are truly disgusting.
Thank you for posting this. The operator who went through the timeline did a great job and did not hold back when evaluating obviously substandard, apparently cowardly performance by officers and lack of a masculine approach and timely, violent action to neutralize the attacker and protect and save innocent lives of children and others in mortal peril.
An officer had the scope of his carbine rifle on the attacker as the attacker was slowly walking with his rifle toward the west hallway entrance to the school. The operator in the video says that the 143 yard distance, combined with the power if the officer’s carbine rifle, made this a point of scope=point of “entry” situation. The attacker was dead to rights, and what did the officer do? He “blinked”. He called his supervisor for permission to take the guy out. Then he asked again for permission. The opportunity then disappeared as the attacker waltzed through an unlocked doorway and into the school.
OK, so you’ve done a risk analysis. BFD.
Coppers are hired and paid to wade in when first barriers fail. They were trained and ordered (in the training) to do so only weeks before.
If every failsafe fails then all the failsafes are at fault — no one more than another. Or less.
Comes a time, though, when the foul language just flows. Should it really be stopped or censored, during the moment of righteous emotion, or of urgent action, sorely needed. I wonder. It seems to definitely have its place among and between good men discussing or doing hard and necessary things.
Those are Uvalde’s First Responders? More like Faux Responders. Good thing the Border Patrol showed up before they had to share their donuts with the shooter.
Or just killed you right there, to make sure you couldn't save anyone.
It’s not Cowardice or lack of training... It’s much worse!
It appeared as Callous Indifference!
“Did we get orders yet?”
“naaah...”
“Oh well... these walls are full of germs better clean my hands.”
“did we get a key yet?”
“Nope not yet...”
“okay ‘cause, I’m not touching that germy doorknob, it might have the rona on it!”
“It seems to definitely have its place among and between good men discussing or doing hard and necessary things.”
To an extent you’re correct. I’ll use foul language under my breath but not out loud.
I’d also say there’s a big difference between using foul language among people you’re familiar with and spouting it out to an audience of thousands.
I have kids. I gotta set a good example.
Even if every cop was shot in a fight with the mad man—and it saved ONE student it would have been OK. So sad to see Texans acting like Californians. I guess the really brave men were all killed in Desert storm or the rice paddies of Viet Nam. Or they have been changed into woke fat cowards (did ya notice how FAT the cops are in the video?) They all pull down good paychecks and when asked to serve—they stand around and hear the shots and screams. The children would have been better off if they called the fire department.
I hate to even think that this was done on purpose so as strict gun laws would be passed and police chief will be rewarded by the Democrats in power. The kids were all pawns to be killed to achieve a goal—a disarmed America (something like this was done in other lands). I hate to even think this way. In Texas too. (No more Walker Texas Ranger for me).
why what is wrong with Walker Texas Ranger?
O'Donnell then claims that without an AR15 the shooter would not have been able to do so much damage. That is an outright lie.
The Virginia Tech shooter was similarly on a shooting spree that lasted hours. He was armed with two handguns and a bag of loaded magazines. The media just can't help themselves. They must lie to accomplish their disarmament goals.
I heard today that the AP is changing their style manual to recommend against use of the terms "assault rifle" or "assault weapon". Their preferred term is "semi-automatic rifle".
At first I thought this was a good thing and represented a shift toward more responsible reporting. After some more thought I came up with an alternative explanation.
Initially I thought the result of the AP change might be that we would eliminate the terms suggesting that "assault weapons" were weapons of war that do not belong in our communities. Gun owners might benefit from recognition that so-called "assault weapons" are just modern rifles and should not be banned.
Now I recognize the possibility that the intention of the AP is just the opposite. Having conditioned our communities to view "assault weapons" as a problem to be solved, the anti-gunners will now shift full time to outlawing ALL semi-automatic rifles ( and soon thereafter semi-automatic handguns).
Children were allowed to die when it could have been stopped. This was not cowardice. This was calloused indifference to the suffering of children. This was utter disregard for moral action.
The Nuremberg trials found precisely the same moral indifference and punished it with life sentences and death. There can be no less consequences for these officers. Following immoral authority is not justifiable.
Risk analysis?
You don’t even know what you’re writing about.
