Ah yes. General Benjamin Butler ( aka Beast Butler ).
The man who ordered Yankee troops to ransack and pilfer homes in New Orleans, and treat any local women who resisted to be treated as prostitutes.
Vladimir Putin would be proud of Beast Butler.
Butler was a pig in every respect, but the swipe at Putin is not justified.
The latest toll of civilians in Ukraine is circa 12,000 about half killed, after six months, with is it 10 million refugees?
Those deaths & refugees are solely on the hands of Vladimir Putin.
And the civilian casualty toll after six months of New Orleans Union occupation was? How many killed, how many wounded, how many homeless? How many slaves freed?
“Spoons” Butler.
Solely on the hands of Putin? The Obama administration, with some help from Soros and Igor Kolymosky, engineered a coup of the duly elected government of Ukraine in 2014. Up until that time there was no trouble between Ukraine and Russia. In fact, relations were good. Our role in planning and carrying out the coup is well documented. In fact transcripts of communications by Victoria Nuland involving the planning are publicly available. In addition, the coup plotters brought in Azov, OUN, Right Sector, and Svoboda Neonazi thugs as a part of the coup machinery. Following the coup, the coup government, which included Neonazis, enacted laws that were anti-ethnic Russian. The ethnic Russian areas wanted nothing to do with the coup government, and the Donbass republics demanded an autonomous status within Ukraine (rather like Quebec in Canada), whereupon the coup government proceeded to wage an 8 year war in the Donbass kiling combatants and thousands of civilians. The Neonazi’s helped the coup government brutally put down resistance in other ethnic Russian areas, including burning people alive in the Hall of Trades in Odessa. In addition, to get the Soviets to agree to break up the USSR (1991), our government made firm representations to the now Russian Federation that NATO would not move “one inch east”. This was to allay Russian security concerns about having NATO on its border. The Clinton administration violated that pledge in 1998, and George Kennan and others have commented clearly on how foolhardy (not to mention dishonorable) that was. Then the Neocons in the Bush administration did the same thing in 2004. In 2008 they tried again with Georgia, and the Russians put a stop to it, and then pulled out of Georgia. Russia was quite clear for years that it would not accept a “NATOized” Ukraine. And for years Ukraine was neutral and peaceful. Then, after the Neocon engineered coup, Ukraine became internally war torn. NATO took actions that were making Ukraine a de facto part of NATO (do remember, for example, that we were operating 46 bio-warfare research facilities in Ukraine). Zelensky then talked up re-nuclearizing Ukraine and, with encouragement from elements in NATO, formally joining NATO. By mid-February 2022, Zelensky had moved moved roughly 100k soldiers into the Donbass for what looked like a final assault on the Donbass republics. Then, and only then, did the Russians say “enough is enough”. The Russians certainly were not going to standby idly and watch the UFA, and especially its Neonazi formations, slaughter the ethnic Russians in the Donbass, and they weren’t going to allow NATO, whether de jure or defacto, on its border. Our Neocons have used Ukraine as a pawn. We created the disaster in Ukraine, beginning with the coup. And before you dismiss Russian security concerns, try to remember that we almost went to war in 1962 with the USSR over its placement of missiles in Cuba. Moreover, no one honest would claim that the US government would tolerate it if the Russians caused a coup in Mexico, used the coup government to create a military alliance between Mexico and Russia which could entail placing Russian bases, weapons, etc. in Mexico. The Russians for three decades have voiced their security concerns. Russia relied on our government’s promises, which were broken. There is no more substance to the Biden/MSM, etc. narrative about “evil Russians and the noble West and Ukraine” than there was about the 2016 election Russia hoax. You have fallen for a psyops operation that has been run just like the Covid fraud. But, as I believe Mark Twain once said, “It’s easier to fool someone than to convince him he’s been fooled.”
I'd say your characterization of the history is more psyops than factual. Russia's invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked, period.
And I would say that you know nothing about the origins of the conflict. Worse, you and your ilk here don’t want to know the right and wrong of the matter, or genuinely care about the consequences of the criminal Biden Administration’s actions. I guess if we had had to invade Cuba in 1962 to take out the Soviet missiles (something we would have done), the US would have committed an unprovoked invasion.
I no longer think people like you are acting in good faith but are just misinformed. Go waive your pom poms. The reality is that our actions regarding Ukraine from the Clinton Administration onward are resulting in the destruction of Ukraine. The blowback from the US government’s actions is also destroying Europe and severely damaging the US. Ironically, it may be the Russians and our boomeranging sanctions that inadvertently stop the WEF’s Great Reset. But you’d have to actualy known something beyond what our Neocon influenced media tell you to understand that. Oh, and yes, “be safe” and be sure to get your next booster and wear a double mask while you watch your cable.
Sorry FRiend, but you sound to me like you’ve been driven insane by somebody’s psyops agit-prop, none of which is relevant to Russia’s unprovoked invasions of their smaller neighbors.
Your point about the Cuban missile crisis makes my point, since, first, there are no long range nuclear missiles in Ukraine and second, JFK did not contemplate invading Cuba, but rather a blockade to prevent more Soviet missiles from being delivered.
