Republicans Must Listen to Voters, Not the Media
American Thinker ^ | 13 Jul, 2022 | Jeff Crouere

It's time to give "working with" Democrats a rest. The people want something different.

As our nation descends into a recession and Americans worry about how to pay their bills and feed their families, leaders in the Republican Party have decided to keep quiet. Their strategy is to let the political party in power, the Democrats, self-destruct.

Without question, Democrats have done a horrible job leading the nation.

SNIP

Democrats showed no qualms about trying to annihilate President Trump using phony charges. In contrast, Republicans have tangible evidence to present regarding Biden, and, largely, there is silence from GOP officials. Each day, Republicans should be calling for the impeachment of Joe Biden.

It will not hurt them at the polls, for there is no affection for Biden among the American people. A new poll shows that his approval rating is only 30%, while an astounding 88% of Americans say the country is on the wrong track.

Republicans should also be demanding that the 79-year-old president submit to a mental competency test. Every day, Biden displays embarrassing gaffes, makes humiliating misstatements, and demonstrates his forgetfulness. It is a national security threat for our country to be led by a president who is mentally incompetent. Unfortunately, other than a handful of congressmen, most GOP leaders are silent on this critical issue.

Instead, many establishment Republicans were quite vocal about their support for the nation's first significant gun control legislation in decades. The bill passed with the support of 29 Republicans in Congress. It was accomplished because too many Republicans believed that the nation "had to do something" after the horrific school massacre in Uvalde, Texas. Yet it is never a smart idea to limit our Second Amendment rights in pursuit of nebulous gun control objectives that will never be achieved.

Voters need to primary every single RINO. Make them pay for their betrayal.

Not gonna happen.

Republicans are like battered wives who cower in the corner anytime a Democrat raises a hand.

That’s not what happens. The establishment GOP are willing and willful collaborators.

Mr. Crouere seems to think that the Republicans and Democrats are still two separate political parties. How quaint.

True that.

What voters need to realize is that the leadership of both political parties cares about nothing more than power and their own personal enrichment.

Wow! What a sharp observation! Did you think that up all by yourself or did it come from a committee of experts?

The amount of trust Americans have in the media is at rock bottom and you are warning Republicans to not listen to the media?

Go away. Try again.

And yet we’ve found that the cause of the Uvalde massacre was the leftist leadership in Uvalde. They passed up numerous opportunities to incarcerate the murderer and preclude his purchase of firearms. Because that would be harsh.

Like most politicians, they listen to their wallet. Government is incompetent, inept and corrupt. Top to bottom.

“It’s time to give “working with” Democrats a rest. The people want something different.“

Wake up, Jeff.

VERY few of today’s politicians work for, or even believe that they work for American citizens.

Politicians believe that they are an elite class to rule over and USE the public for their gain. BOTH parties. They’re two sides of the same coin.

We lose = THEY win. Party doesn’t matter so much.

That is what everything they do, every new ‘law’ is about anymore.

Looking to one politician to be on your side - against thousands of other politicians and their bureaucrats is foolishness.

Yes, but it's not like big press will treat tangible evidence anywhere near the same as phony charges. Most of the press is agenda-driven, not truth-driven.

I think MAGA is being lost over a series of poison-pill issues aimed at severing populist support by appealing to the activists for unpopular (and therefore NOT populist), causes.

The mask wars were disfavored by 59% in Texas, and by a higher percentage nationwide.

January 6 was never going to work as a coup, and it transformed a nation seething with anger toward Congress by making people feel sorry for them.

Then there was the abortion issue, where once again, you have a large and solid majority in favor of first trimester abortion, being ignored by a GOP proceeding lock-step against the will of their constituents.

There is an old adage of “three strikes and you’re out!” and I think that is what has been done to the MAGA movement to discredit it. The Uniparty globalists will surely benefit from this state of affairs.

The question is, can the MAGA movement move on from here, or do the populists have to try yet again, having had both the Tea Party and the MAGA movement co-opted?

Bush League Republicans exist to be Assistant Democrats.

They want to meet the Democrats halfway on destroying America.

I am a “Principled Republican”. I am a true Conservative who opposes Trump and his ignorant savages. I stand on true conservative principles such wide open borders and yearly increases of work visas to help reduce labor costs for my donors. I will also covertly support nationalized health care to help them reduce health costs pushing those costs on the American taxpayer. I support increasing student and work visas for the Chinese to help them build their infrastructure. I support exporting American jobs and technology to help the development of other nations proving that American is a good global citizen. I support sending American soldiers to hot spots around the globe to assist the U N with it’s goals and leaving Europe & Japan free to increase their wealth by offloading their defense costs on us. I will support activist judges and bureaucrats who will implement unpopular edicts which I approve of while telling my voters there’s nothing I can do about it. I support restructuring elections so that the right people are put in charge. I support political prosecutions and censorship of the media to crush dissent so we can move forward in the right direction. I will always do my utmost to help my friends the Democrats so we can get things done for our donors. Every election I stand for I may have to lower myself to say things to fool my voters but once safely reelected I can again stand firm on my “Principles”.
