Police look bad, really bad.
Cop can say he didn’t want to spread Covid as the victims were slaughtered by the perp.
Reminds me a little of the George Carlin video clip a FReeper posted to me once (sorry I can’t recall his or her screen name).
Carlin pointed out that before the lethal injections to the condemned murderers in prison, the person giving them wipes the prisoner’s arm with an alcohol swab. That way there won’t be an infection.
This video made me physically ill.
There is one other possible answer that no-one wants to talk about....

Dereliction of duty and outright prevention of duty. There can only be one answer why this happened and that’s because the cops were following orders.
Totally agree. Something very strange is up with the whole situation. When will one policeman spill the beans? It’s like they have these crazy derelicts in their sights and do nothing, then a mass shooting occurs and voila, they are another inch away from total gun confiscation. Very weird indeed. The latest of the children being shot at at the baseball game.

Well my comments: they are the police. They come in and clean stuff up. Personal defense and your children’s defense is a parents responsibility and cannot be delegated to a police officer. If you have children in a place not under your control it is your responsibility to see to it that they are protected. The one woman who went in a got her kid/s is an example.
And the lockdown policy for schools under attack is stupid. Everyone should evacuate in this situation. If there are 20 shooters then that will be a blood bath. If there is one. He will have to aim and hit a fleeing bunch of people. Without a gun i’m fleeing. sorry. My office had the same stupid advice. No i’m sorry i’m actually going to go down the 38 flights of stairs a quickly as i can. I’m not sitting in my office waiting for someone to hunt me down in a office with wall board. rather than a concrete stairwell. shoot at me but i’m running down the stairwell. i can run faster than you can aim and shoot in a concrete stairwell. I’ll take my chances.
I think most of what you see is a group of men waiting for orders, and not doing anything beyond that. Throughout my military years...you’d see this type of behavior. There’s probably a term for it, but they want some authority to say this is what needs to happen. I’d say around 75-percent of people are this way, and you could have an entire ‘force’ filled with individuals like this.
I’m going to be a dissenting voice for this story. Not about the police response as a whole — it was inexcusable that the officers sat around for an hour+ while children were being murderered.
But for this particular officer — if his chief had forbidden him from going in, and the dispatcher said they were waiting for whatever reason, why shouldn’t he use the bathroom / use his phone / clean his hands / pick his nose? The tragedy is that they sat around waiting, not that while they were sitting around waiting some of the officers washed their hands or used their phones.
I watched that full video just a couple of hours ago. It was really late but I had to see how that many armed ‘men’ could stand around and fidget like little scaredy kids while the real kids were being shot. I was both amazed and disgusted, frankly.
EVERY ONE of those ‘men’ should be made to stand up on a stage, drop their pants and prove they have a pair of balls because from the way they acted during that 77 minutes proves otherwise.....
Could he be “slammed” in real life, please?

Keep in mind, the genetic line of people in Uvalde is from people who fled their homeland because there was crime and bad guys there. Their parents, grandparents etc chose not to stay in their own country to be a positive force and instead ran North. When the going got tough, they got going and ran in the other direction.

That’s your choice to make and I won’t criticize it. However imagine 100 panicked people bunched scrambling down that same staircase. That’s called a target rich environment ideal for a mass shooter.
He didn’t want to get the virus but it’s OK for the gunman to kill all those children. Everything in this video is disgusting and sickening.
What a bunch of COWARDS!!
If I lived in Uvalde I would get the picture of that officer washing his hands and put it on billboards and signs everywhere with Pontius Pilate as his name.
Every member of the Uvalde police should kill themselves. The world would be a better place.

I saw a bunch of bored armed ‘men” who were acting like they had just been dragged to another stupid drill.
