On Monday, the city of New York launched a new public service announcement (PSA) that provides guidelines about what residents should do in the event of a nuclear attack.
Unfortunately, New Yorkers who watch the PSA will likely be severely ill-prepared should a nuclear weapon detonate in their vicinity, as the video provides little in the way of specifics or useful information. Instead, the short clip instructs citizens to follow a rudimentary 3 step plan that leaves them completely reliant on the powers that be to come to the rescue.
According to the PSA, New Yorkers should 1) “Get inside” 2) “Stay inside” and 3) “Stay tuned” – or, as the narrator clarifies, “follow media” – in the event of a nuclear attack. After walking through the steps, the narrator hammers home the last point by commanding that the audience “don’t go outside until officials say it’s safe” to do so.
The video does not address what to do if one requires medical attention or food.
Sounds awfully similar to another step-by-step process that has been pushed recently – wasn’t get inside, stay inside, and don’t come out until the experts deem you can the basis of Covid lockdowns?
Wash. Rinse. Repeat. However, this time we are talking about a nuclear attack – something much more deadly than the fear-porn peddling Covid cultists could ever hope for with the virus.
But, instead of preparing the public for the horrific scenario, the lack of relevant information in the NYC PSA aims to create dependent masses who are reliant on the experts. And, it’s at a time when we are knee-deep in a proxy war with a country that possesses over 4,000 nuclear warheads.
It’s no coincidence this type of PSA is being released with what’s going on in Europe and the Pacific – whether it be to stoke fears or because of a legitimate, burgeoning threat. Nevertheless, the likelihood of a nuclear attack hitting NYC is currently slim to none, even according to the NYC Emergency Management Department, which put the chances of a strike at “very low.”
But, according to NYC’s Emergency Management Commissioner Zach Iscol, the threat of a nuclear strike is “imminent.”

Pedestrian walking in Manhattan. Warning of imminent attack. Here are your options:
Option 1
1) Go inside skyscraper
2) Nuclear weapon explodes
3) Building collapses. Immediate death.
Option 2
1) Stay outside to watch the explosion. Immediate blindness
2) Immediate death from blast and buildings collapsing on you.
Should you somehow survive options 1 or 2 by miraculously ending up in a small pocket in the rubble you will die a miserable and painful death from radiation poisoning, dehydration, and any physical injury from the rubble and debris long before any rescue operations begin.
The officials to whom the article refers will be dead as well. The media will not be broadcasting. The PSA is pointless.

A Japanese fella survived 2 atomic bomb drops. (Was badly injured though), and,lived into his 90’s if I recall right. (Although everyone in his vicinity died when the bombs struck- this fella was featured on a show about “super humans”)

I noticed yesterday The Weather Channel doesn’t have any hurricanes to talk about so they were rehashing what happened in Florida back in 2005.
Watching almost any news now a days is loaded with fear porn....disgusting....and some people swallow it hook line and sinker. SMH
Out nuclear drills in Kansas doubled as tornado drills. Out in the halls, on your knees, head against the wall. That’s where survivors were usually found. Prayer optional.

I hear you, living in NE Florida, the Kings Bay Naval Base which is the East Coast Home of the Ohio Class Submarines is probably 40-50 miles from my home, which I think would be a high priority of a nuclear attack.
Sixteen months into this abomination, we are getting Nuclear attack PSAs from the party of chaos, fear, hatred, division, death and madness.
Yet on another thread I just read an article from the NYT about Biden being too old, here is a snippet:
“Trump had left the country in ruins, its institutions collapsing, much of the population gripped by furious delusions, and millions traumatized by the pandemic. Biden was elected to bring back a normality that now appears to be gone for good.”
Ranks right up there with the lie my parents told me about eating spinach, "you'll get strong like Popeye".
We've all seen what an 80 KT nuke did to Hiroshima. Multiply that by about 15 times with just a 1 MT nuke.
I was stationed at Hahn AB and Spangdahlem AB during my tour in Germany. If the balloon went up, our remaining life span would have been reduced to 15 minutes.

The armed guards will have fled in panic—the “elites” are gonna be on their own—just like everybody else—no clue what to do—communications out in the city.
The notion that anything will remain “normal” even one moment after a nuclear attack on NYC is laughable on its face.

If you get to a sub-basement you might survive the immediate attack and even live for a few days.
The problem is that you would be buried under a pile of rubble and no-one would come to rescue you.
IMO, the guards will also be looking for their reserved space in the politburo shelters, too, and the “officials” they will be escorting will have all the credentials they’d need to exit swiftly.
Instead of encouraging pre-planning where & how to shelter, stockpiling essential food, meds, water, etc., the PSA basically says to hide until “officials” can dream up something to broadcast* from the taxpayer-funded bunkers you aren’t allowed to use. They just want to keep the streets clear while they make a run for it.
*Being NY, they will probably order those with severe radiation poisoning to hang around in nursing homes.
In Jacksonville, we have the Mayport Naval Base which is the home to quite a few War Ships and a very large Naval Air Station.
Take out NE Florida and SE Georgia you would deal a real blow the US Navy.
With prevailing west to east winds Long Island would be inundated with radioactivity.
While most folks there would survive the immediate blast they would get serious radiation poisoning at best.
The entire island would become a “no go” zone for hundreds of years.

Every person is different and no-one knows for sure how they would react under those kinds of conditions.
Guards with families in the area may try to flee to be with their families.
Guards with grudges may decide that is the moment to act on them.
etc etc etc
But—the notion that they would follow orders at such a moment is very questionable imho.
