In presidential politics, many of us seem to be enchanted with pretty faces. As was earlier true with John Kennedy, Gary Hart, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Martin O’Malley, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Andrew Cuomo, Gavin Newsom is the latest “pretty face” in American politics who not so quietly believes his best qualification to become POTUS is his mug.

I hate to say it, but you’re right. A painful question we must ask ourselves is why is there such a shortage of good looking men on the right? They range from “meh” to “something that would frighten the horses”.

Non-serious people choose from non-serious candidates.
I will never say that I have always chosen the best possible candidates that were available in an election. However, I can say that I have never thought for a minute about the clothing style, or mannerism or clever word usage as having any importance of the choices I have made.

For me - with a man looks count but personality counts for a lot more. A man should be smart, self confident, tough, funny, kind and these things to me count more than looks...this is assuming he isn’t ugly. John Edwards had a pretty face but there was something slimy about him.
We women are different - looks count a lot more IMO.
Sadly,thatnis all that matters to many on the left- that and “being the first” ie electing the “first black man” despite the fsct thatnhe was woefully unqualified for the job as proven by how badly he screwed the country up

Our big dilemma: Is there another pretty face out there on the horizon that we have to be wary of? I don’t think so for now. Just look at Biden. Barak and BJ were once in a century politicians.
Just think: Democrat governors have a harder time being successful because their policies don’t work(Carter/Newsom). BJ was the exception. He can thank Newt. Senators are orators, easy to be manipulated by. Hopefully the voters(51%) can recognize the adult in the room-not always true.

As a side note, Reagan was no pretty boy. But he sure knew how to hold an audience captive. That was true even when the audience was not so friendly at first. Our future candidates would do well to learn from the Gipper in that regard.

Obama was born a British subject/Kenyan national, even if he was born in Hawaii and is therefore NOT a natural born citizen.
Natural born citizens have ONE nationality, that’s why they are NATURALLY citizens, they could not be anything else.
It was that singularity of nationality that the founders were requiring.
I honestly think Ron DeSantis is a decent looking guy, especially compared to others on that list like CARTER? BILL CLINTON?
