Joe Biden on Friday will sign an executive order boosting protections for abortions rights - a move that come two weeks after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and after the president was criticized for not doing enough.
The order will push to safeguard access to abortion medication and emergency contraception and to add more protections for patient privacy.
Biden will also direct the Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services to push back on efforts to limit the ability of women to access abortion medication or to travel across state lines to receive abortion services.
And the order will increase access to legal services for the abortions rights battles expected to come.
Biden will sign the order in the Roosevelt Room of the White House later Friday morning with Vice President Kamala Harris at his side.
Since the Supreme Court's ruling on June 24th, Biden has been under pressure to take executive action and faced criticism from some in his own party for not acting with more urgency.
The Supreme Court, in the case known as Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, which guaranteed a woman's right to an abortion.
The administration also is continuing to push Congress to codify Roe into federal law.
Biden, last week, called for the Senate to overturn the use of the filibuster to help codify abortion rights.

I routinely have guns shipped from all over including as far as South Africa. If you have a FFL they can ship direct otherwise get to know a FFL and ship them to that location fill out the 4473 and Bob’s your uncle. Even better if you have a state CCW permit then no background call just sign and go. I know I know 4473 are against the constitution while some believe this to be correct convincing the USSC to enforce that view and stop all background checks is DOA there is zero political will to eliminate background checks exactly the opposite with 80% in favor of background checks and that number climbs every year and with every shooting the 4473 is here to stay.
