Joe Biden on Friday will sign an executive order boosting protections for abortions rights - a move that come two weeks after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and after the president was criticized for not doing enough.
The order will push to safeguard access to abortion medication and emergency contraception and to add more protections for patient privacy.
Biden will also direct the Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services to push back on efforts to limit the ability of women to access abortion medication or to travel across state lines to receive abortion services.
And the order will increase access to legal services for the abortions rights battles expected to come.
Biden will sign the order in the Roosevelt Room of the White House later Friday morning with Vice President Kamala Harris at his side.
Since the Supreme Court's ruling on June 24th, Biden has been under pressure to take executive action and faced criticism from some in his own party for not acting with more urgency.
The Supreme Court, in the case known as Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, which guaranteed a woman's right to an abortion.
The administration also is continuing to push Congress to codify Roe into federal law.
Biden, last week, called for the Senate to overturn the use of the filibuster to help codify abortion rights.

The dems have to keep the black population down somehow.
An Executive Order is NOT a law.
Who the f#*k is talking about about punishing women for crossing state lines to get abortions?! The hysteria is absolutely mind-boggling!
The pathologically lying Liberal World Order isn't hysterical. They are calm calculating liars.
...limit punishment for women crossing state lines...
And an unlawful EO is not worth the paper it’s written on.
He’s passionate about aborting babies. Significantly, the “pope” has given biden his unconditional love and support. Same for nancy pelosi.
He is in clear violation of the constitution, ruling from SCOTUS, and the limitations put on federal officials regarding the 10th amendment. These are impeachable offenses.
Is anyone, anywhere trying to stop anybody from freely traveling around the country?
I mean, other than lockdown nuts.
No limits on interstate travel should be permitted—save for a flight from justice.
Does this mean that guns and ammo can be sent by mail across state lines as well, since that Right is actually guaranteed in the Constitution?
The only incident I can think of is in leftist New York, where governor-directed law enforcement to turn away unvaxxed travelers at the border.
Hey Joey, you ain’t no King!!!
So, GFY you worthless demented perverted pedophile.
Have a Nice Day!
Tell that to the illegal EO that extended the dreamers.
There is a huge difference between a temporary Biden “right” and a permanent Constitutional “non right”!
Do they get a free gas credit card ?.
I guess jojo also failed to read the decision.

I routinely have guns shipped from all over including as far as South Africa. If you have a FFL they can ship direct otherwise get to know a FFL and ship them to that location fill out the 4473 and Bob’s your uncle. Even better if you have a state CCW permit then no background call just sign and go. I know I know 4473 are against the constitution while some believe this to be correct convincing the USSC to enforce that view and stop all background checks is DOA there is zero political will to eliminate background checks exactly the opposite with 80% in favor of background checks and that number climbs every year and with every shooting the 4473 is here to stay.
