A Texas cancer survivor who suffered three miscarriages was banned from aborting a longed-for pregnancy in her home state on discovering the fetus was too disabled to survive.
Kailee DeSpain, 28, and her husband were forced to make a 10 hour trip to New Mexico in February after a 16 week scan revealed their son Finley had an unsurvivable condition called triploidy.
Carrying the pregnancy to full-term would have put DeSpain at risk of potentially fatal complications, but Texas's so-called heartbeat abortion bill bans almost all abortions except for those vaguely defined as 'medical emergencies.'
DeSpain was told hers did not fit that criteria, and instead set out on a lengthy journey to a neighboring state, where she was branded a murderer by pro-life protesters on arriving at the abortion clinic.
Her doctors had advised she seek termination after her 16-week ultrasound revealed her son, Finley, was not going to survive due to several serious health conditions.
The couple was devastated by the news but opted to end the pregnancy in an effort to prevent potentially life-threatening complications.
Now, DeSpain continues to share her story and fight for women's rights, alleging she will 'not know a single day of peace until I can govern my own body, and everything that goes on inside of it, in the state I once loved.'

1) She was not a CURRENT cancer patient.
2) She was not under treatment for cancer.
3) There were no PHYSICAL complications to carrying the baby to term.
4) Have known women with babies with same diagnosis who DID a addy to term knowing the baby would most likely not survive for more than a few hours after birth. None regretted it.
5) Delivery of the baby at term is the correct medical procedure.
6) She had her unborn baby’s innocent life taken.
7) Who gave her the authority to decide which life is valuable and which is not???
Well...she is a murderer.
With cancer coming and going, she’ll meet her Maker a lot quicker than most and will have to eat those consequences.

Read this story again, she WANTED this baby but it was disabled that is why she chose abortion. Doctors said it would not live long after birth.
She tried several times to get pregnant and had 3 miscarriages now this. So she could not love the child for just a little while after the baby was born? No she kills him before he has a chance to draw breath? That is why this is so wrong. She has no love for him for just a few hours.
Probably just another lie like the 10yo victim of abuse. These baby killers have no shame and dunt blink twice at the prospect of spreading falsehoods to further their murderous goals.
No it’s not but does that not mean she can’t love the baby until it passes? She has no compassion to hold him and care for him until that happens? You are saying abortion is compassion? Don’t tell me the “baby would suffer” if it’s that bad dope the kid up on morphine until he passes but hold him and love him until the angel of death comes.
The key word in all abortion laws is “viable.” A child born without major organs is not viable. All it would take to confirm this would be an amniocentesis.
It’s heartbreaking. But in this case, it wouldn’t be an abortion.
Why tweak the law? So more can be determined to be unfit to live and more twisting of the new law can be done to make the taxpayer pay for what they don’t want and consider evil?
