What a bunch of communists!

It is open source....you can use it for anything you want.

People have incorporated open source code into their projects and used it for their business needs, thereby, making money from it.

Is there some pledge by everyone with access to open source material not to use it for something that makes money?

Hell, even governments have taken open source code and used it for surveillance, tracking hackers, etc.

But I am sure these commie coders are just fine with that.

As you know, Microsoft acquired GitHub in 2018 for more than seven billion dollars

I did not know that but could have predicted the outcome. Bye bye github.

Is GitLab an alternative to Github? I own that stock.

I guess this Copilot will eventually spew out some of my old code.

Serves ‘em right!

Microsoft stole DOS (without question copied CP/M’s interface at the least) and bought innovative technologies to either destroy or incorporate in their OS. They really are a monster. LOL

I use GitHub because MBED uses it. You can designate a library to be private. Are they not really private?

You can find all the Windows Ping list threads with FR search: just search on keyword "windowspinglist".

Thanks to ShadowAce for the ping!

The BSD licenses were completely open source/public domain, but allowed people to make money off of selling it or any changes made to it.

I strongly prefer BSD, and always have. The rest of this is Commie-inspires code.
