An avid hunter of endangered animals was shot dead in South Africa after his truck broke down, according to new reports.

Riaan Naude, the 55-year-old head of Pro Hunt Africa, was found dead next to his vehicle in Marken Road, Limpopo. Cops said they have no motive yet.

Two hunting rifles were found in Naude’s car near the Kruger National Park wildlife reserve, local outlet Maroela Media reported June 9.

How much would a license to hunt poachers go for?

That might generate some revenue.

That is because your ignorant. Not your fault, you were indoctrinated with eco crazy propaganda. Big game trophy hunters have done more to protect and expand populations of endangered species that all the NGOs and eco-weenies combined. Please don’t believe me, there is so much data available on this it is ridiculous. Just approach with an open mind and objectively look at the facts and especially the results.

He definitely had it coming. I’m a life long hunter, I’ve been to Africa and shooting these magnificent animals with anything but a camera is despicable.

Silly person, removing an older dominant male is most effective way to improve and expand the overall population. That is how you save endangered species.

“... if you don’t eat it, don’t kill it.”

You made me think. We are very sanitized in our contact with life and death. There are some hunters who are moved with bloodlust I suppose but many hunters respect life much more from the hunt.

There at one time was value in the Jewish tradition of kosher, draining your food of the life blood. Now it is a label on a package of hot dogs. At the packing plant the animal is stunned mechanically, and a mechanical knife slits the throat while the eyes roll in the live animal as the blood drains. You can only watch this a few times, that is why it is mechanized, not done as originally done in the Bible.

Most hunters have an extreme understanding and respect for life. It is not just about food.

I hope there is a very special place in Hell for trophy hunters - if you don’t eat it, don’t kill it.

So, you eat mosquitoes, cockroaches and mice, correct?

Wildlife, including lions and elephants have to be managed.

We are the only species that can do it.

“ if you don’t eat it, don’t kill it.”

As others have pointed out, trophy hunting is a sustainable way to fund conservation and support populations.

Elephants are eaten. Don’t know about lions.

They are going to die anyway (average lifespan is about 10-15 years), about the same as a dog.

Park managers have to cull certain animals anyway, to maintain the health of all the animals inside the park, as well as when some animals become such habitual offenders harming locals’ fields or livestock that people begin killing any and all they see, anywhere they see the animals, as “prevention.” Park managers can do the culling alone with no added benefits, or they can do it through managed hunting permits, which secure more revenue for the park and wildlife within. One is not more humane or inhumane than another, but clearly one is more beneficial.

The Maasai are being relocated away from their territorial lands by mainly European interests for that purpose. They will call it conservation.

Set up reserves on the land you want to force the Maasai to inhabit. (The money will not as conveniently flow in the desired directions however.)
