Police in Akron, Ohio, unleashed a wave of tear gas on protesters who gathered outside of the city's main courthouse on Sunday night.
Several hundred protesters marched in the city in the hours after the Akron Police Department released the bodycam footage showing the shooting death of 25-year-old Jayland Walker.
Walker was killed after being shot at least 60 times by Akron cops following a traffic stop on June 27.
Riot police used tear gas in response to a protester who was taking down barriers that were set up outside of the police headquarters. Authorities responded by coming out in 'full riot gear,' reports WKYC.
While fleeing the tear gas, protesters began driving their cars on the sidewalk to get around snowplows parked in the road to block off the high street - and some protesters launched smoke bombs in the streets, reports the Akron Beacon Journal.
One protester began breaking the windows of several snowplows whilst a row of dumpsters was also pictured on fire, although there does not appear to be any major damage to property in the city.
WKYC's Neil Fischer said that police used 'at least a dozen' tear gas cans on protesters which resulted in many of the gathered crowd leaving the area. Fisher said that you could smell the tear gas in the air more than 15 minutes after it was used.
Fellow WKYC reporter Emma Henderson tweeted: 'Tear gas is flowing. We were well over a block away from where it was fired and it's in our noses, eyes and throats. Protesters are finding each other water and moving away.'
One protester, who goes by the moniker Comrade Ohio on Twitter, tweeted a video showing a dumpster on fire in the city.

You need to realize when cops can get away with that level of force it can and WILL be aimed at you.

What percentage of the black community gets up and proclaims that too many blacks are engaged in criminality?

If the initial shooting of the deceased was justified, it was not murder.
If the deceased was hit 60 times, as opposed to 60 shots fired, well, at some point the officers may have committed abuse of a corpse.

In the real world, if a cop hears even one shot he thinks a further shot is justified.
The real world is not a courtroom or blogging site. I have the luxury of several minutes to compose this. Lawyers have a month or more to prepare their case.
A cop may only have a split second to save his life. There is no time for thinking, only shooting.
The first time to think was before the first crime allegedly committed by the deceased.
The second time to think was before the first shot ever got fired off.
In a gun battle between an untrained person and several police, the untrained person should expect to lose.
If true, the Akron cops need more range time. With the current prices for ammo, there’s no call for such wastefulness.4 cops + 15-round mags = rare case of government frugality.

It’s unjust to paint any group of people with too broad a brush. When the Rosenbergs were arrested for selling nuclear secrets to Russia, some American Jews were concerned that there would be retaliation against them for the Rosenbergs’ crimes. Many of those Jews were Holocaust survivors.
In the real world we supposedly put cops through all kinds of training so they’ll be SMARTER and LESS dangerous than us. They should be held to a higher standard. If a bunch of civilians shot a guy 60 times you better believe we’d go down, “he shot at us once” wouldn’t fly for us, not for that level of overkill. And shouldn’t for cops either.
