I'm in Oklahoma and appreciate the politics (Constitutional Carry; outlawed abortion) but don't like the weather.
I've lived in Florida, Ohio, Alabama, North Carolina, Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and California. I like the weather in Michigan and California but don't like the politics.
I'd like milder summers and can handle cold winters. Long spring and fall weather is good.
Retirement age and all, so good medicine is important.
By the time we make the move (~2 to 3 years, likely) whatever adjustment the housing market will make will be done. Don't anticipate having to finance anything, etc.
Also, I'm a firearms "accumulator." Carry concealed 90% of the time and that's important. Constitutional firearms laws are always important.
What says the FR braintrust?
I’m loving it here,
True, but after getting residency and a DL, it takes 2 weeks to get a CCW permit.
Yup,
Extremely Conservative.
Depends on where your at.....like most states actually.
I’ve been to daytona many times but I wouldn’t want to live there.....Sanibel Island however is a completely different thing.
You must be in Yuma or
Phoenix,,,
Try Flagstaff!
I thought that Austin and the hill country was pretty darn humid in the summertime.
And you don't like it there?
I lived in Prescott for 5 years. Beautiful, but I'm from the city and love city perks. Not much of that in Prescott.
That's true in eastern TN. Been there, love it.
It's NOT true in the western part of the state, especially around Nashville.
Yavapai county is pretty nice.
Someday..I intend on getting back there and visit the Palace.
Guess the back bar is pretty original.
I logged up around the YMCA camp on the Old Senate Highway. Matter of fact, the last I was up there was this spring working creating fire lines around the com towers.
My old mailman moved to Chino Valley years ago. We have been here since 04. I’ll take two or three months of heat over 200 plus inches of snow and 6 to 7 months of winter.
East Tennessee
Learn to play the banjo…
Never said I didnt like it here.
South/central Texas can be. It's closer to the coast than I am. It can also be a bit windy. Where I live in NE Texas is definitely a better climate.
Southwestern South dakota.
Conceal carry with no permit
If the kids live in leftist hellholes, is that still a good idea? It won’t work for me.
Nashville has become an overcrowded mess.
Property taxes have soared, to pay for the professional sports teams, and their playgrounds.
Traffic is a nightmare, and potholed streets abound.
Join Kristi Noem in South Dakota. Heavily conservative. Relaxed rural atmosphere. Lowest cost of living in the nation. The only negative besides the harsh winters is that you might have to make trips to Minnesota for highly specialized medicine.
Florida always has room for conservatives...
I agree about Nashville and would not live there either. I suggest northwest or southeast of Knoxville. Both are growing but still small and country.
