Why Serena Williams REALLY had black stickers on her face: Tennis ace is using muscle-healing tape popularised by Cristiano Ronaldo and Tiger Woods for chronic sinusitis to relieve 'pressure, congestion and pain' (but there's NO proof it works)

Her sister has Sjogrens. It is difficult to get that diagnosis in the eary stages. Quest has a lab for early Sjogrens. They may be the only one that has it.

She could be developing it and just doesnt want to reveal it.

But yes, she it out of shape and overweight to play tennis at Wimbledon at her age.

Yes, there is specialized training for it.

I will tell you about a weird product that really helped me.

Accupressure Mat.

Something else that seems to weirdly help my knees are accupressure shoes. I use the addidas Addisage slide. I walk on the outside of my feet and it helps align.

BOTTOM LINE: Serena lost to relatively unheralded Harmony Tan because she is 17 years older, and not at her healthiest condition.

btw, adidas is running a sale right now on addisage massage sandals. It would probably help with feet problems too. I wear them when I am cooking

I suffered from recurring sinus infections with excruciating headaches for about 12 years after I got out of the Army. I was stationed in Central America for two years and I suspect I contracted the infection there and it never fully went away no matter the medication I took.

Anyway, I finally had an x-ray on my sinuses during the last bout and they were fully clogged. So the doctor performed an Antral Lavage which required him to insert a huge syringe up my nose and perforate the bone in order to access the sinus cavity. The syringe was filled with saline water which he used to flush out the sinus cavity. You would not believe the amount of what looked like green algae that was flushed out into my throat and out my mouth into a pan held under my chin.

I know it sounds really gross but I never had a problem again.

I used to get a sinus headache about every three weeks for my entire life. Had surgery for a deviated septum a few years ago. Not a single sinus headache since then. Still get congested at times, but am able to clear out my sinuses much better.

I can’t stand to read your post...lololololol. I know doing Neti pots and those kind of things can help but I can’t do it...but I am not a big sufferer of that sinus headaches.

amazing what came out of your sinus cavity

This is so silly. The sinuses are a fixed structure, possibly full of pus in her case. No amount of tape would make anything drain or loosen up.
It would be like putting a Bandaid on her neck for strep throat.

She must have a product endorsement.

Lots of weird stuff in the tropics. I also contracted a fungus that created pale blotches on my arms and chest. No big deal, a dermatologist provided me with an ointment to apply to the blotches and they went away.

In retrospect, I was covered under my employer's health insurance so I was paying a co-pay every time I went to the the doctor. I should have filed a claim with the VA and saved a few bucks.

One of my sergeants down there was in Vietnam and he had the same skin condition but really bad. Don't know if he took care of it or not.

Celebrities have always endorsed quackery. Some little bits of tape on your cheek are suppose to relieve acute sinusitis? Besides. Everyone knows ionized alkaline water is what you use to heal everything.

Celebrities have always endorsed quackery.

As I often joke with my wife about some of these "miracle cures," they should be advertised with the slogan "now with 25% more placebo!"

Won’t help a deviated septum

Doesn’t help anything else either. It’s called the placebo effect

And that is the ONLY way to improve a deviated septum

No proof that it works.

And?

People do lots of things with no proof that it actually works via medical studies. Some times when they get around to doing a study, surprise, they do find evidence that it does work.

If it is not actively harmful just let them be.

I look for things that have been studied. It is very difficult to prove something. So I dont look for that. It is enough for me that they considered an idea.

Like studies looking at Cinchona Bark.

But as always, you have to be aware of how things you put in your body affect your liver and your kidneys

One of the strange ones I found lately is taking a whiff of rubbing alcohol for nausea.

My niece swears it helped her get through her pregnancy.

There are a couple of studies out there about it and it seems a bit hit or miss. Might have to do with what is causing the nausea. Doesn't seem to help with food poisoning but did help youngest with sea sickness.
