A Texas mom celebrated for rushing into the site of the Uvalde elementary school massacre said that she is being harassed by police and had to move her children for their safety.
Angeli Rose Gomez said that she has been threatened by police and has faced increased scrutiny after she spoke to the media about how she saved her children.
In a media briefing on Sunday with her lawyer, Gomez detailed her experiences during an announcement that she was seeking to file several lawsuits over the massacre and the police response.
“The other night we were exercising and we had a cop parked at the corner like, flickering us with his headlights,” Gomez said.
She had also previously claimed that a police officer had called her and warned that she might be in violation of her probation from an arrest a decade ago if she kept speaking to the media. She only began speaking to the media after being reassured by a judge that she would not be violation of her probation.
Gomez went on to say that she had moved her children in order to avoid the intimidation and harassment from police.
“Just so my sons don’t feel like they have to watch cops passing by, stopping, and parking,” she explained.
Mark Di Carlo, her attorney, said that he was representing about 15 parents of the Uvalde community.
“The fact that [Uvalde School Police Chief] Pete Arredondo wasn’t fired immediately based upon whatever it is, hours of video, from testimonies such as from Angeli, is an indication that there is some sort of what, corruption or wrongdoing,” he said to reporters.
Gomez has been praised for her defiance of police orders in order to save her children on the day of the massacre.
She said that she had been briefly handcuffed by police who were preventing her from entering the school as the gunman was barricaded into a classroom. When she was released she hopped a fence to gain entry onto school grounds twice and saved her children.
Uvale law enforcement has faced scathing criticism over the choice to wait outside the barricaded room while the gunman continued to shoot and kill children.

The probation harassment is verified
They stopped that lawman too
She needs to get the hell away from there. Or she will find herself locked up on trumped up charges. She needs to learn from the January 6th people. Before she repeats their fate. Today, one stays far, far, far away from the Police. Or lives to regret it.
From the aftermath of this it’s hard to believe this wasn’t an orchestrated event. People, especially cops, don’t normally act that way!
“Uh...Mam, You made us look bad by doing the job we were too cowardly to do. So, we’re going to hound you and make you out to be a criminal.”
Yeah! Exactly!
Thats what I want to know.
Two articles, one for federalization of state and local police, the other against.
The Uvalde event is tailor-made not only to bolster the gun control argument, but also to advance the federal takeover of law enforcement agenda. There’s no rationale to demonize the majority of good cops in this country who, by leaps and bounds - outnumber any bad ones. As an old saying warns, “Be careful what you wish for.”
from the 1998 Federalist Society article:
“Why should there be a bar against the federal government duplicating or taking on the same responsibilities by statute or by practice as local law enforcement? It may be a quaint notion these days, but one of the reasons is the Constitution. There the drafters of the Constitution clearly intended the states to bear the responsibility for public safety. Some states may do it well, and some may do it not as well. The Constitution is not a document that is designed necessarily for perfection or even efficiency. Concerns about oppressive use of governmental power motivated the leaders of our country at its founding to make a clear distinction between where the police power was to be rested. As a matter of fact, to reassure the states that the federal government would not usurp state sovereignty, Alexander Hamilton wrote in the Federalist Number 17 that law enforcement would be the responsibility of the states.”
We should hope that the unending police-bashing here on FR will someday cease. How many times do we have to beat the same drum? How many virtually identical articles have to be posted in the echo chamber? The world is outraged...we get it.
People who argue strenuously against the police are, after a certain point, feeding the agenda for the federal takeover of law enforcement. Ironically the exact opposite principle that informed the Dobbs decision.
A fascinating tidbit: the location of the 9th worst mass killing in the US - Robb Elementary School, matches exactly all four of the main Gematria cyphers of the perpetrator of the 11th worst mass killing, Charles Joseph Whitman: 227. 92. 313. 106. (The main cyphers are: English Ordinal, Full Reduction, Reverse Ordinal, Reverse Full Reduction).
This whole thing smells like fast and furious. Where did this kid get his weapons? Why was the door to the school conveniently left open? Why did the cops stand down? Just curious.
Bkmk
Clearly, there weren’t enough dead kids to suit them.
The should be changed with aiding the terrorist. After a quick trial, the police should be summarily executed for their crimes.
Every Uvalde PD member should kill themselves.
Might be a case for the feds or Texas State Police.
Rangers?.......................
At the conceptual level that's right, but that level is in a different domain than the police chief and his crew. At the operation level it's just the usual - money. School shootings these days are profit operations employing Blackwater-style contractors and corrupt LE. The size of the payoff is proportional to the kid body count. In the aftermath of a school shooting there is a windfall of Federal funding to the locality roughly proportional to body count. When you know it's coming it's easy to get your buckets in place to catch the rain.
This one in particular seems so odd and disjointed, I have to wonder if they went cut-rate and things didn't go as planned. If so we should expect the clean-up to become evident shortly.
The fat-assed donut eaters don’t like it when someone makes them look bad.
“These Uvalde cops did massive damage to the credibility of police nationwide.”
They let the mask slip.
Well said. Profound.
