I think you may want to consult a mental-health expert and ask xir about Rapid Onset Ruling-Class Disorder (RORD). Experts agree that RORD is commonly found among the high-status supporters of a ruling class confronted by unexpected lack of respect from uppity black men. It is also associated with a ruling class headed for the exits, as in Louis XVI and Mikhail Gorbachev.

Our managerial elite have become despots. But they think that’s OK because they see themselves as enlightened despots. They have a good deal and they think anything which threatens their situation is a threat to “our democracy”. And when they say “our democracy” they just mean enlightened despotism with them at the top.
But the Bastille will be stormed.
Since the USA is supposed to be a republic then any “threat” to democracy is a good thing.
True enough.
But it’s the “our” part which is most worrisome to me. I see it like the Mafia — the Cosa Nostra (”Our Thing”). It’s not your thing. It’s their thing. Regular people don’t matter. Regular people are suckers. The crooks only care about Our Thing. Nancy Pelosi is focused on “Our Democracy” because she hates the republic that the Founders gave us and which is government by We The People.
