The US drugstore chain CVS said on Monday that it had temporarily limited purchases of the morning-after pill to three boxes per transaction, in order to avoid a shortage following a recent US Supreme Court verdict that revoked the constitutional right to abortion.
In a statement, the company said it had "ample supply" of Plan B and Aftera, two products intended to be taken by women to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or if a birth control method fails.
The drugs -- commonly known as morning-after pills -- are distinct from abortion drugs, which terminate pregnancies.
The move comes after the US Supreme Court overturned on Friday the landmark 1973 "Roe v Wade" decision that enshrined a woman's right to an abortion, saying that individual US states can now permit or restrict the procedure themselves.
"To ensure equitable access and consistent supply on store shelves, we've implemented a temporary purchase limit of three (boxes) on these products," the CVS statement said.
Walgreens, another major US drugstore chain, said it had no plans "at this time" to place restrictions on sales of morning-after pills.
"Walgreens is still able to meet demand in-store," a spokeswoman said. "At this time, we are working to restock online inventory for ship-to-home."

Serious question: How many pills does it take? Or do you take one every time you have sex? Like the condoms the guy isn’t using?
After Friday I could see a panic and they buy out the pharmacy.
They only work for 48 hours. They suppress ovulation and also prevent implantmentation for than time window. You have to take one side following each suspected event. The most common being if a condom breaks or falls off. In theory if a woman knew here cycle well enough and was confident in it then you would only need two dose use them right after the ovulation event and the body will pass the egg in that 72 hour window then pregnancy is not possible till the following cycle. Problem is some women double ovulate and its nearly impossible to know the exact ovulation event even with hormonal urine monitoring at the lab grade level. So back to the original on label use after every suspected event.
I have know at least a dozen young women not tolerant of hormonal contraceptives and at least that many with latex allergies. For the latex there are synthetic rubbers that are in the same 90% effective window.
Question: Is RU 486 still available is states that banned abortion?
Consider the situation over the last 2 years with HCQ. Some states, like mine early in the plandemic, drs would not prescribe, pharmacies would not stock, so no local way to obtain.... and then the proliferation of mail-order HCQ. I got a supply from Frontline Dr’s in FL.
If RU 486 is available in one state, it seems to me it would be available in all others via USPS/UPS/FEDEX.
Some of the early state laws included the use of any “medicines” which would abort the baby.
Considering that women are no long willing to have sex with men due to Roe being overturned, why is there a shortage of this pill?

They can’t prevent men from buying this because, after all, what is a woman? Plus men have periods (according to woke organizations and HR dpts). It’d be a shame if a man missed his period. Who knows what would happen?
My local CVS wouldn’t fill my ivermectin prescription.

You can mail order it from, Canada ,Mexico,India, and Israel just removed their restrictions on it. USPS is Federal they don’t open parcels and CBP only stops narcotics which their sniffer dogs are trained to find all other medical shipments are not opened that violates a slew of privacy laws. RU486 has other on label uses other than to induce miscarriages same for the other drug. This makes it impossible with privacy laws to force the disclosure of use to CBP or the USPS. Thst must allow the passage of medical shipments.
