U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has assured that Washington will continue to support Ukraine in opposing Russian aggression, and that Russia has already lost in the war it has waged.
Blinken made the statement at a news conference in Berlin on Friday.
"Ukrainians are defending themselves with incredible courage, and Russia has already failed. Putin's goal, as he himself said, was to destroy Ukraine as an independent and sovereign country. This goal has failed. A sovereign and independent Ukraine will last longer than Putin will live", he said.
Blinken added that Russia, despite achieving some success in the Donbass, is far from a decisive victory, and the achievements it already has, cost it an extremely high price.
"Tens of thousands of Russian servicemen have reportedly been killed or wounded since the invasion. Russia continues to lose large numbers of tanks, aircraft and armored vehicles," he said.
He added that even in the event of a further offensive, Russia would occupy the cities it had completely destroyed, and the Ukrainian military would instead retreat to more fortified positions where it could defend itself effectively.
"Our intelligence reports that Russian troops continue to suffer from low morale, high mortality, equipment problems and leadership that refuses to inform them of the real state of affairs on the battlefield," Blinken said.
LOL, a Biden official? You are truly lost.
War by news and social media. What could they possibly have wrong?!
fixed it.
C.W.
Sir Robin Zelenskyy bravely ran away earlier in the battle for the Donbas.
It does not appear to be the case.
I wonder if the geopolitical adults ever get tired of the chattering of US diplodunces and their neocon anklebiter pals from the kiddie table at the back of the room?
He worse than Baghdad Bob. BB knew he was full of sh!t and understood what he was saying was all propaganda.
Blinken actually believes what he says is true and that he’s correct.
Blinkin as a foreign policy expert? You’re just lonely and looking for attention 🤣
You’re on a tear today.
These are the same people who lied about Donald Trump and Russia collusion, Hillary won the election in 2016, inflation being transitory, coronavirus starting in a wet market, vaccines would keep you safe (ask Colin Powell about that one, oh wait, he died of covid), Stacy Abrams being cheated out of office, George Bush losing to Al Gore, Hunter’s laptop having all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation, on and on.
Why believe them now?
“As for Ukraine, the G7 has remained “extremely cohesive” since the beginning of the war, Blinken said. In this regard, he noted that efforts in the G7 format - not only in the context of defense, economic and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, but also pressure on Russia to end the war - continue.” :)
Praise God
He thinks there was an election? Haha
FJB
We have Putin’s gas tax, the Germans are starting up their coal plants, and most of the world is ignoring the sanctions against Russia. If this is winning, I would hate to see what losing looks like.
Blinken couldn’t find his ass with either hand.
Blinken is a fool as are most Biden advisors. I pray this nation never has to rely on Biden and his kind.
Very good post.
“Russia has already failed - Blinken Source: “
Let’s see, General Milley:
1. The US has emptied (or greatly reduced) its conventional arms arsenal.
2. The US Dollar now has a credible challenge and likely replacement.
3. Gasoline up to $5.00, or close enough.
4. US arms given to Russia to reverse engineer and develop countermeasures.
5. China and India now TOTALLY aligned with Russia.
6. Inflation going through the roof in the US and Europe.
7. Russia having the STRONGEST currency in the world.
8. Huge numbers of Ukrainians dead.
9. Europe about to FREEZE this winter.
Yep, we won. I agree.
p.s., about the only good thing to happen to the West in this debacle is the restart of coal-fired powered plants.
I don’t like anyone who works for Biden, but his point is true. Russia is paying a high price. Ukraine is also paying a high price. The winner will be the side that can absorb the most pain and remain standing.
Russia is still advancing, though, even if it’s just a few yards each day. It looks to me like Biden promises a lot but then slow-walks it, providing just enough to keep Ukraine in the fight but not enough to win.
