Shark investor Mark Cuban has made plenty of waves over the course of his multibillion-dollar career, but most recently he's launched a successful excursion into the generic drug trade:

Is he having success? You'd better believe it—it's been such a success that it's making the federal government look like a total putz:

In a comparison between Medicare's spending in 2020 and the prices of Cuban's Cost Plus Drug Company, researchers found that Medicare could have saved $3.6 billion, according to new research from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School published Monday in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hussain Saleem Lalani, a researcher at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and the study's lead author, said that the study "does show that Medicare is overpaying for some of the generic drugs."
"This is a conservative estimate, so the actual savings are likely higher," Lalani added.
The federal government to Mark Cuban right now:
Meanwhile, people haven't been shy about celebrating the amount of money they're saving by opting for Cost Plus instead of a traditional pharmacy:

Most Americans have no idea what an absolute cartel pharmaceuticals are and how much we're being ripped off by them. I travel to India quite often and see how many drugs that are incredibly expensive here can be had for pennies there. Viagra for example, before the patent expired was about $60 a pill in the U.S., in India it was 30 cents and it's the same medicine manufactured in the same plant. I'm sure someone here will counter with "but they've got to recover the price of the research" and while that's true, a quick look at the companies bottom lines will tell you they're doing a lot more than that. The big pharmaceuticals are some of the biggest donors to congress, in return they get to exercise monopoly pricing in the U.S. and drive healthcare costs through the roof.
They're a Canadian company, but deliver to the U.S. They can access drugs that are still protected by patent in the U.S. but not overseas. I once ordered from them in Canada, and got a drug manufactured in India and shipped from Switzerland.
To some extent Walmart has been doing this for years.
Example being my Novalog insulin, which the chain drugstore in my town prices at over $100 per vial, can be bought at Walmart for $25.
“I guess to expect a simple search button or option is too much. I will go elsewhere.”

Probably explains why Walmart is no longer in Tricare....they don’t charge the gubermint enough.
Maybe people could just buy drugs themselves, instead having Fed.gov as a middleman.
The web is getting BAD.
My browser must see a different page than you do.
Whether its my IP address or other schemes they deem relevant.
That text you cite IS NOT on my page that I see.
Thanks for you effort. I wanted to see it Linzess comes up.

True. Trump was hated by the pharmaceutical companies because of his efforts to lower drug prices, it was going to cost them a LOT of money.
Recall that Pfizer first announced they had a vaccine on November 9, 2020, the date of the presidential election was November 6. They intentionally withheld the information about the vaccine until after the date of the election because they didn't want Trump to get credit for it and a boost in the polls. A pharmacist cousin of mine pointed that out and was the one who told me how badly the pharmaceuticals wanted Trump gone so they could maintain their profits. I have absolutely no doubt that they waited until after the election for the vaccine announcement to intentionally harm Trump's re-election chances.
Nice for this, but he is slime. He was one of the Aholes who said the anthem would not be played at his games.
The only problem with generics was a with thyroid medicine, and that was like thirty. years ago. It was minor potency discrepancy compared to the popular Armour brand.
So a rich hypocritical lib sells meds on the secondary market and he’s supposed to be some hero? Exactly how many medicines has he developed in his lifetime? How many dollars has he spent on medication R&D? Does he share any of the liability of the meds he is selling? How many dollars has he allocated for future medicine research?
I sometimes use Northwest Pharmacy. Sounds similar. Very reputable outfit.
I am required to take the brand Synthroid, not the generic. My yearly cost for the *brand* through them is a fraction of here (US) with any program or insurance. Basically 6 months for the price of 1.

Cuban uses facial recognition and AI to track every human on all his properties. He even captures every facial image at every Mavericks game.
He’s sneaky.
Doesn't look like it. he could make a freaking fortune. There are folks online charging $100+ for a bottle of pills it costs $5 to make.
Wow. I checked on my generic drugs, and they’re way less than I’m paying. But I have some meds that are not generic, one of which is $800 a month without insurance, but $47 on my insurance.
