So you’ve got skin in the game. I wish I knew more about my forbearer’s participation in the Civil War. The ones I know a little about migrated, from generation to generation, from Pennsylvania throughout the mid-west. So my kin were most likely on the Union side.

The Mattaponi, Pamunkey, and others like the Chickahominy.

Mostly of the Algonquin tribes.

Powhite were Indians in the area (Charles City towards end of peninsula).

I don’t recall reading about Indians involved in the eastern theater. More out west, especially in the Trans-Mississippi.
