In an effort to recognize the importance of a father in the home, the several "Father's Day" services were celebrated. One was organized by Grace Golden Clayton, who on July 5, 1908, arranged a church service to honor all fathers, in memory of her father who was a Methodist minister in West Virginia.

Another event was celebrated June 19, 1910, in Spokane, Washington. Sonora Louise Smart Dodd heard a church sermon on the newly established Mother's Day and wanted to honor her father, Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, who had raised six children by himself after his wife died in childbirth.

Sonora Louise Smart Dodd drew up a petition supported by the Young Men's Christian Association and the ministers of Spokane to celebrate Fathers' Day.

In 1916, Woodrow Wilson spoke at a Spokane Fathers' Day service.

On December 6, 1904, President Theodore Roosevelt addressed Congress: "No Christian and civilized community can afford to show a happy-go-lucky lack of concern for the youth of to-day; for, if so, the community will have to pay a terrible penalty of financial burden and social degradation in the to-morrow ..."

Today is a coincidence of celebrations. This year, today is Father’s Day. And June 19th is the day of Juneteenth (which it always is).
The local DFW News showed events being held over the Juneteenth Holiday weekend (the Federal Holiday being Monday).
Those Juneteenth scenes were mostly, you guessed it, women, and children. On this Juneteenth/Father’s Day Weekend.

How ironic . . .

To me, the LEFT is a jealous mistress, a mistress that seeks to separate from those traditional ties that bind us into a cohesive society. From family to religion to honest patriotism, all of these are challengers that must be weakened to death for the LEFT to flourish.

Now, today, the LEFT has biology in its bullseye, with a goal for today that has no intention of honoring fathers. Instead, and in its place, is a miasmic fog of chosen genders under protection by the STATE for acceptance of the same. The ‘nuclear family’ has had its run but the LEFT sees no further use for this pillar of antique civilization.
