Quick-thinking driver stops woman stealing his car by using a FORKLIFT to hoist the vehicle into the air and trapping the thief inside

A quick-thinking driver has foiled an alleged car thief by using a forklift to trap her inside the vehicle she was attempting to steal.

Brendan Mills came home to find a woman inside his red Volkswagen Polo at his Waterford West property, south of Brisbane on June 5.

By sheer good fortune he had left the forklift parked beside the car, with the forks facing towards it.

So he immediately jumped into his forklift and hoisted the car up six feet in the air, trapping the alleged car thief inside before calling Queensland police.

The alleged car thief was unable to open the doors to escape earlier because the position of the forks prevented the car doors from opening.

Police video showed an officer opening the door of the car as it is lowered and telling the baffled occupant 'out you get'.

Security footage from the property's cameras showed a woman wandering onto the property at 5.20pm on Sunday June 5.

Police alleged she went inside the house, had a shower and put on clothes she found inside.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested at the property and charged with burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, a Queensland police statement said.

Somehow, I guess correctly that this happened somewhere in England. In many ways, they still seem a bit more clever and enterprising than the average American trying to resolve the same issue. In the states, the now ensnared car theif would have felt ‘indignant’ at being trapped like a forrest animal, and she would not have surrendered to the officer without trying to shoot her way out of it.

My hero! The pic of her coming onto the property does not show her as wandering. She was walking with a purpose.

Ahem....Perhaps I should revise my statement.
But I wasn’t completely wrong, with Australia being part of the British Commonwealth.
Much of that culture and manner of expression remains quite similar.

He’d better watch out… Australia might ban forklifts retroactively.

When I was in Germany there was a paving crew trying to resurface a parking lot that had been clearly marked and signed off for about 48 hours announcing their intent to pave on a certain date.

Some self-important Mercedes driver obviously concluded that the signage did not pertain to him and left the car parked and unattended. I watched smiling as they used a forklift to gingerly pick up the car, carry it down the block, and set it in another spot and then went about their business.

No, you were completely wrong. England is on the other side of the planet from Australia.

Just man up, old chap.

I miss driving forklift, that operator could have punched the forks right into the driver’s compartment. Six tons of fun!

A lot of women in Europe don’t shave their under arms or legs. And as someone here already said as Australia being part of England, and sharing same mannerisms I would suppose the women don’t shave as well.

American women, unlike the rest of the world identify as Homo sapiens not Homo Sasquatch and like to remove as much excess body hair as necessary.
