When I was in Germany there was a paving crew trying to resurface a parking lot that had been clearly marked and signed off for about 48 hours announcing their intent to pave on a certain date.

Some self-important Mercedes driver obviously concluded that the signage did not pertain to him and left the car parked and unattended. I watched smiling as they used a forklift to gingerly pick up the car, carry it down the block, and set it in another spot and then went about their business.

Related to paving, a driveway paving company ran a commercial, stating “we come to where you need us”. Why say that? Would they expect us to bring our driveway to their place for repaving?
