Carl Sandburg was born on January 6, 1878, to Swedish immigrants who worked on the railroad. After 8th grade, Carl Sandburg left school, borrowed his father's railroad pass, and traveled the country as a hobo.
Carl Sandburg volunteered for military service, was sent to Puerto Rico in the Spanish-American War, and then attended college on a veteran's bill.
Carl Sandburg wrote children's fairytales, called Rootabaga Stories, and mused of his wanderings in American Songbag.
Carl Sandburg wrote in Remembrance Rock (1948, ch. 2, p. 7): "A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on."
He continued: "A baby, whether it does anything to you, represents life. If a bad fire should break out in this house and I had my choice of saving the library or the babies, I would save what is alive. Never will a time come when the most marvelous recent invention is as marvelous as a newborn baby. The finest of our precision watches, the most super-colossal of our supercargo plants, don't compare with a newborn baby in the number and ingenuity of coils and springs, in the flow and change of chemical solutions, in timing devices and interrelated parts that are irreplaceable.

Amen to that! We have allowed the left to make everything about our ancestors and our past to be evil. We need to proudly reclaim who and what we are.
As a youth, I attended Carl Sandburg Jr HS in Mundelien Illinois. Sitting in class one day, admin made an announcement over the speaker...President Kennedy had been shot.
Years later, the wife and I visited the Carl Sandburg home in Flat Rock, NC.
I’ll have to visit the home. I grew up knowing about Sandburg, as he was friends w/ my grandfather, a librarian. Through my grandfather, Sanburg inspired deep historical appreciation in all of us in the family.
The Democrats are just a symptom. Once we’ve pushed faith in God out of our schools, our homes, our government and out of our culture, all types of evil come in.
And worse is to come.
ONLY revival by repentance, and honest ‘turning again to God’ will save America.
I don’t remember a lot about it. Been thru a number of “famous” homes, and they’ve all run together in the memory banks. LOL
