Why does the Millennial generation (people born between 1982-1996) have lower marriage and birth rates than previous generations? And when Millennials do get married, why is it at a later age than previous generations? Prominent periodicals like The Atlantic, Time, Washington Post and others have published articles trying to explain the phenomenon.
Some claim that the cause is economic – we graduated from college into the 2008 Recession, we have a lot of student loan debt, and we receive stagnant wages as housing prices soar. Financial difficulty prevents young people from getting married. This is of course part of the problem, but it is wrong. People got married at a higher per capita rate during the Great Depression and the brutal wars in history, which were much tougher than anything we endured.
Some argue that the cause is increased education, feminism and careerism. People want to focus on establishing a stable career in their youth, including women in equal if not greater numbers than men, which makes them delay family formation. This is also a partial explanation. There is no reason a person cannot pursue education and career while married. If the issue is about focus, we would argue that living “the single life” is even more of a distraction from schoolwork. Even if we concede the argument about focus, it still does not explain the large number of Millennials who are now in their late 30s, well-established in their careers, but still remain unmarried.

The only time that men had general access to promiscuity is during war, where they can rape at will.
The average woman has considerably more experience than the average man prior to marriage. A woman only has to open her legs and somebody would fill it. A man has to do considerably more and he has to have a certain level of attractiveness or he will be outright rejected.
Any man that sired a child, our society would generally hold account through child support.

Now the future is looking like it's going to be filled with conflict. So the fittest gets to survive.
I always wondered that myself. But they of course didn't wait a very long time after the wedding to air the mini-documentary.
I do recall that the matchmaking service made efforts to help the marriage work. For instance, they had previously placed at least one other Ukranian bride in the Denver area, whom they introduced to the new arrival. It was reported they became fast friends.
Having someone nearby who speaks your language, understands your culture - especially the unexpected gotcha's everyone faces when being thrown feet first into a strange new culture, and who has gone thru the same process of marrying an American they barely know, is of course a big help.
Side note - the Boomer groom was an engineer making very good $$, and could easily afford to support a nuclear family on his own. He just couldn't find a local Denver-area woman who shared his vision.
Also, back in that era where Ukraine & Russia were newly liberated from Communism and watching rich oligarchs gobble up their chances for a bright future, there were stories of 20-something women who found it difficult to find a spouse who wouldn't abuse alcohol and beat them within a culture that was far more tolerant to spousal abuse than the US was.
The reason being is because they don’t want to feel insecure whenever he is gone for three hours unexplained.
It's been theorized that one reason women write love letters, or marry, felons in prison, is because they get to have an Alpha boyfriend who has no opportunity to stray. He's tucked safely behind bars, away from other women, his sole focus on her, her visits, her letters.
I assume that is the case, but the issue was making it advantageous not to be married.

It's not the same, but men who abuse the romantic "innocence" of women have been derided as a "cad" a "heel" or a "louse."
Those terms are largely archaic by now.
Whereas a woman can either abort, or leave the baby at a drop off center, no questions asked. She is free to sever her financial responsibilities for a child, unlike a man.
And the Third World will keep sending its young, violent, horny men into the West, to compete for mates with our soy boys.
They'll compete with our gangbangers in our inner cities. Our soy boys are gay so they are not competing.
I could believe that (have adult children under 30), but you may still see plenty of people questioning the number of partners a female has had without mentioning the males at all.
In hearing young men talk, I believe they just don’t see spending money on a girlfriend as worthwhile; in high-cost (not NICE, but high cost) areas, they work hard with little return - so they see no point in spending it on a girlfriend.
In my area in NJ, there are plenty of foreign women - and some American men are marrying/breeding with them.
