A suspected tornado caused major damage to a Meijer Distribution Center and several other sites in Miami County early Wednesday evening.
Other damage was reported in Darke and Clark counties, as the storm system rolled across western Ohio between 5 and 7 p.m.
t the Meijer facility off South County Road 25A in Tipp City, the roof and back wall on the northwest corner of the building collapsed.
“I did see a funnel cloud in the area,” said Tipp City police Sgt. Corey Rismiller. “I did see debris coming off Meijer’s roof.”
The damage locations appeared to be “pretty much industrial facilities” with Meijer taking the biggest hit, said Joel Smith, Miami County Emergency Management Agency director.

Wowser!
Now we will find out there was never any tornadoes in the Miami Valley before the climate change started in 2001.
mezzo cyclone
I’d call that major damage
My employer has a plant in Tipp City. Looks to have not been damaged.
Talk to folks from Xenia. 1974. F5
It was rain wrapped as well
Oh...they were on the edge of their seats last night.
“Talk to folks from Xenia. 1974. F5”
Yep, that is why I posted the way I did.
On April 3, 1974, I lived at:
994 Buckskin Trl
Xenia, OH 45385
I got to see, my house, my wife and my three kids on NBC News.
Truck driver Steve with Big Rig Travels had his trip there canceled. Blessed I guess.
We were on top of the hill feeding the fainting goats at that same time . We are about 60 miles from there . We didn’t get much wind but the rain came down so hard for about ten minutes it was coming through the seams of the barn in a couple places . We have a fall-out/storm/root cellar but never thought it was necessary for this little blow . Nice to have though .
That’s some serious damage.
NAH, it was definitely something other than a tornado. Has to be.
Drive past Buck Creek. It looks like a war zone.
They are telling people in Tipp to stay off the roads today
Just another food distribution center taken out!🤷♀️
“Suspected” tornado???
Wait… these folks… these “highly educated PROFESSIONALS”… who GUARANTEE us that we are DOOMED - if we fail to “act” on “climate change”, can’t even be sure that it was in fact, a tornado that damaged a Meijers???
Mmm Hmm…
Right; what are we now at, 30+ plants?
The supply chain is taking a serious beating. The stores sill empty out this Summer, due to the diesel prices and distribution centers’ destruction.
Almost like it’s planned, huh?
Heh.
