Is there a work around google disabling "Less secure apps"?
So since the 31st of May, google has disabled the option for "Less secure apps", so I have been using the Java mail API, and since the update i can no longer send emails using the Gmail smtp.
This is the error I'm getting:
AuthenticationFailedException: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted.
“My Thunderbird stopped working with gmail”
it’s because google stopped supporting all authentication methods except oauth2 ...
upgrading old Tbirds to the latest TB (91.9.1) has been a nightmare for thousands because simply upgrading doesn’t work because old TBs leave behind multiple incompatible config files ...
here’s what worked for me:

If it’s free, you’re what’s being sold.
Thanks
The built in windows mail client works just fine.
Millions of users should have kicked Google to the curb long before now.
I avoid Google like the plague if at all possible.
... at least in this planet.
If you use any G**gle product, you're as much as begging for a proctological exam every time you fire up a PC or handheld digital device.
Yes, I myself use Thunderbird portable, using IMAP (server imap.gmail.com) and ssl/tls for connection security, and OAuth2 as authentication method. Thank God it has worked well.
