"The media" have ONLY what power We The People GIVE them. They put up a wall? Go around it. Circumvent them. Utilize alternative means of transmitting information.
Doing so does take effort, which a great many people are unwilling to expend. But the results are worth it.
Yup, but it's worse than some in our awakened bubble think. Massive numbers of people watch Fox, ABC, NBC, and CBS nightly news. Even more watch their local affiliates every day. There's the morning shows people have on in the background while preparing for work. Then, since game shows and soaps are no longer an afternoon thing, there are "news" programs from about 3 to 6 until the nightly news airs (and again at 11). I know a lot of "educated" people who believe that listening to NPR is the wokest thing in the world. Cable news is but a sliver of the hold the networks have on the populace and I haven't even mentioned news papers. The bottom line is we have a long way to go to overcome network "news".

All— I’ve been busy working on my father’s house, now officially, legally my house. Decided to change course from doing inside stuff to trimming overgrown hedges, getting rid of weeds as tall as I am, and putting down mulch because it was not that hot and I am having a hard time getting a decent landscaping service to mow the grass properly. I don’t want to hire anyone to do anything more complicated until they prove themselves. The front embarrassed me so much that I felt I had to do something. Still have lots to do. This is a very large ranch style house. S.O is helping me. He bought a machete is excited to use it.
Just taking a short break now before going outside to tackle this overgrown patch of stuff on some decorative type thing I share with the neighbor so he can remulch it to match what he uses.
