"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.

Our great trade genius, Professor Peter Navarro, was just handcuffed, shackled, and put in jail, while the lowlifes of ANTIFA & BLM are allowed to rip off the public, roam free on the streets, kill people, and destroy our once great cities (all run by Democrats). This Osho, or Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh as I remember him, is/was a very controversial figure. Despite having a few good quotes attributed to him (e.g., “Government by the people...but what if the people are retarded?”) as I’ve discovered on this thread, I don’t think we really want to be associated with him.
Who is our resident Oregonian? Does she have any memories of this crazy cat and his 50 Rolls Royces?

Any wise sayings from him are the stopped clock kind. He was such a disgusting phony guru who also committed crimes that he was thrown out of India. He pushed orgies, drug use, brought in homeless people to illegal vote locally to try to have his followers take over the county (or was it the town of Antelope?) local government. His followers had to give him money and he encouraged male followers to sell drugs and female followers to prostitute themselves to make money for him. His followers planned to commit some kind of mass murder with poison, iirc to spread in serve yourself restaurants on salad or something of that nature but were caught.
His “teachings” have absolutely nothing to do with any traditional teachings of Hinduism - ie the Vedas, are entirely his own invention. He pushed the crudest kind of sexual hedonism as “spiritual” (gag puke) and whether he participated or not I do not know and would rather not know.
There is a lot more but that’s off the top of my head. And yes, he had a collection of 50 Rolls Royces.
PS - the only reason he gained any traction was because of his “cool guru” (cough puke) appearance.
I just keep butternut by curing in sun or by woodstove for 5 days, and they keep for months. I still have 2 from last year, going to cook one today.

My father (6 ft tall, 125#, blind without glasses, 4F for years) was in England slated to go to Normandy. I doubt he would have survived. 2 weeks before D Day, sergeant asked in the barracks if anyone could type. My father was the only one who could, so they had him typing instead.
Which is probably why I am here and not someplace else.

Don’t forget to freeze watermelon 🍉! I put some up every year for cold/flu season. Put it up in bags and take a few pieces out when needed. Suck on it while it’s still frozen. When it thaws .. it’s mushy.
