That's a penalty.
Then there’s what one did to Chubbs Peterson...
Rule 8.1, paraphrased: “play the ball as it lies”
Now that’s a hazard. Two strokes, plus an arm or a leg penalty…
LOL!
If the gator did drop it in the hole, would it count?
That’s only a baby. that guy should have snatched it back./s
One time, at Doral a gator tried to get my balls.
Thank the Lord for the nine iron.
5.56mm
Would have been really funny if the gator had dropped the ball in the hole for him. I guess he’d have to count that as a gator in one.
Go Gators!
I was playing Pompano Municipal Golf Course on the straight fairway that parallels US1. I hit a great shot, dead straight and about 250 yards.
As our foursome approached we watched as a 6+ foot long iguana ran into the middle of the fairway, grabbed my ball, and ran off into the bushes. If you have never seen an iguana run at full speed it is really something. It looks like a cartoon...their legs move in a weird, circular motion, kind of like wheels.
We were having a good laugh as we approached the bushes, discussing the rules and how they apply to this situation. We parted the branches and saw mama iguana sitting on a huge pile of golf balls. She looked at us, opened her mouth, and let out a creepy hiss.
We retreated. All agreed that a non-penalty drop near where my ball first landed was in order.
Chase an alligator? You have to be a special kind of stupid to do that.
Isn’t there a rule about disruptive “persons” on the green? And means of preventing them?
