Too much work. I prefer hitting them with my 3-Iron.

I thought the same.

That’s a lot of cheap, natural, organic meat while Bidenflation pushes store-bought meat prices through the roof.

“I live in Indiana and the Canada Goose is like an overgrown rat. We are overrun with them. I have a pond which they try to nest on every year, but I run them off.”

I’m in northern Illinois and the damn things are all over.

At the building where I used to work, they hired a guy with a border collie to chase them away. It worked for a season, then the geese came back. Overgrown rat is right.

I’d pay to watch them diaper geese. That would be special. It would be the best show ever. No tranquilizers allowed.

Import swans. Highly territorial, and they chase the geese off.

Or, my neighbor's beagle. Hates birds, and will chase them to exhaustion, gladly.

"There is a season on them."

Depends on the state, and geese seem to prefer suburban parks, with ponds, where you can't shoot, regardless.

Good point swans don't like the flying rats any more than we do. The flying rats slime my dock every year.

Where there are geese, there are usually a lot of geese. I am thinking of Lake Merritt, Oakland.

Denver had a serious goose problem in City Park and an adjoining High School. They captured most of them, had them processed and distributed them to needy people. Seemed a good solution.

Same in North Idaho…we are overrun with enemy along with whitetail deer and turkeys. The occasional moose, bear and catamount are nice.

Goose poop or people poop. Which is worse?
At least the geese don’t poop in the middle of town on the sidewalk.

Tell your Club to get a dog like a Schipperke maybe two. That’ll fix it. They’ll work them geese all the live long day.

Word of caution on eating geese, make sure you soak that baby in apple juice several times changing out the apple juice.

Wild geese can take on flavors of the fare they are dining on. Salt water area geese can get especially rank.

Goose poop or people poop. Which is worse?

Good question. This is from one of dozens of articles on the subject ...

The Hidden Dangers of Goose Droppings

While its definitely disgusting, there’s also a hidden danger tied to goose dropping: dangerous diseases and bacteria like E Coli, Salmonella, Histoplasmosis, Campylobacter, Coccidia, and Giardia.

High concentrations of birds can render beaches and parks completely unusable.

You don't want to throw out a blanket for a picnic in a park infested with Canada Geese or let the kids play on the grass.

Swans chase children, bite and are a general nuisance, I would rather have geese. Swans are an invasive Dutch gift to the new world, along with dandelions, but I ear dandelion greens so it’s all good.

In our immediate neighborhood there is a den of foxes, a couple coyotes, and skunks and raccoons, as well as the geese and ducks. I found half of a skunk in my front yard, and some of the rest of him in my side yard. I guess it was too “gamy” even for the ‘yotes.
