Sounds like he actually read the bill. How many other reps even bothered?
This guy was the only Republican to vote against this “do not hate Jews” bill.
Which I thought was a bit odd.
But now he says the bill is against the first amendment.
I don’t think bills like this should come from our legislature at all.
But if it does, it makes you look bad to vote against it.
Just my sudden thoughts on the matter.
Democrats want thought control legislation and many Republicans are too stupid and frightened to recognize it.
What was even the bill?
I have no doubt it did. And why do we have to have specific ‘hate crime’ stuff that makes crimes against certain groups worse then against other groups. It is very Orwellian. Violent crimes are heinous and as such carry harsh penalties. How about we leave it at that?
If a white child is raped is it less awful or worse then if a black child is raped and a slur is used?
I am a Christian Zionist and I fully understand Massie’s view of things.
The Horrors of the Holocaust will not be prevented from happening again by abridgement of the First Amendment and attempts to regulate human thought.
It will only provoke pushback from the other side and more conflict.
>> but government can’t legislate thought.
This is true, and the Rats in govt are trying real hard
It was a garbage, do nothing, bill.
Just show and pomp and bread and circus.
I’d vote against it because it’s meaningless and stupid.
There’s no question this bill along with anti-BDS legislation violates the First Amendment, Massie is even better than Trump or DeSantis when it comes to this. I guess he has no plans to run for president any time soon or he wouldn’t have touched it. But good for him for sticking to his principles.
Is this bill going to go after the jews being assaulted by black New Yorkers?
