A Florida teacher claims she was fired for discussing her pansexual status with middle school students whom she then asked to draw pictures representing their own sexual orientations.
Cape Coral art instructor Casey Scott said her students were curious about her sexual orientation and she explained to them that she was pansexual during a lesson in March, NBC2 reported.
“A discussion happened in class and because of that, now I’m fired,” Scott told the outlet.(snip)
Scott, who is married to a man, said the kids at Trafalgar Middle School then created flags representing their own sexuality and gender identities ranging from transgender and non-binary to gay.
The first-year teacher posted their creations to her classroom door before administrators told her to take them down.
“They said it would be in the best interest if I got rid of them now,” she told NBC.
Scott said she crumpled up the pictures and put them in the trash.
Lee School District officials said some students understood her explanation of her sexuality while others were left confused, the local NBC affiliate reported.
The subject matter angered some parents and students who wrote to administrators to voice their displeasure, officials said.
Scott, who was working on a probationary basis and not part of the teachers union, was eventually told not to return to campus and that her contract was being terminated.

Ten years ago or so, our office (a job where men are badasses!) had a dude (married with a 13 y/o daughter) who decided he wanted to be a she. He took months off and during that time, the agency had to build out a special bathroom for him/her. The bathroom was called the unisex bathroom, complete with shower.
Months passed and the conversation with the “leader in charge”, turned to that bathroom. I casually opined; “Sir, I know what a unicycle is, it has one wheel and I know what a uniform is-is one dress code for all. Shouldn’t we call that bathroom the pan-sexual bathroom, the poly-sexual bathroom, or maybe even the omni-sexual bathroom?”
He did everything he could to contain his laughter and with a grin, replied “Whisperer (not my real last name) don’t you have some work to do?”
“Yes sir, I’m on it” with an equally sly grin.

I believe the “pan” is from Greek and it means “all”. So ... includes dogs?
Means they’ll screw a woodpile in the hope there might be a snake under it.
If I had asked a teacher of mine anything about their home life I would have been told anything from “that’s none of your business” to “that has nothing to do with Geography”. But we weren’t interested in our teachers after class. It probably never dawned on us they had actual lives.

You must have just arrived from “Normalville” - where such things don’t really exist. Unfortunately, around here, we have these made-up realities that you must comply with.
