ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Bridgette Doucette-Howell, 38, was charged in April and May 2021 with three counts of serious felonious sexual assault of an 18-year-old. Since the victim was 18 at the time, that means that she must have forced herself upon him (and I assume it was a 'him' not a 'her-them-they...)
Here she is with beer goggles:

Teachers (regardless of age) should keep their hands and other body parts off of students (regardless of age).
The power dynamic is too far off for it to be anything but abusive.
If they are "so in lo-ve" they can hold off until that person graduates and are no longer under their control.
The teacher is an adult and should act like one.

This is the first case that County Attorney Patricia Conway’s office would prosecute under a relatively new statute that focuses on the relationship of authority over an alleged victim rather than their age. This sort of implies that it was consensual, and the "victim" was of legal age. While I would be inclined to vote "Guilty" based on visual evidence, I tend to think the law is a little out of whack.

College professors are not allowed to have romantic or sexual relationships with students, and can be fired for this. It could also open up the doors to lawsuits because of being in a position of power. Many businesses do not allow dating when there is a manager/employee relationship for the same reason. But I have to say criminal charges here seem like a stretch, at least considering the anything-goes culture of the post-sexual revolution era. Will probably lead to the law being struck down by the courts.
