Part of the green revolution. Wars, and the chaos they cause work to reduce population from nearly eight billion to under five hundred million (Georgia Guidestones). Starvation (wheat /chemical fertilizer scarcity), pandemic, economic chaos, inflation, transportation breakdown, abortions, queer non-reproductive sex also contribute. We have a few here who do not seem to see the broad picture.
