If I remember right, you get a DD14 when you change locations, in other words, I’m discharched from here and then I take my new post. And there is one issued upon final discharge.
She may have just found an old one (which proved she served) but is not her final one.
My DD14 is in an envelope in a box in my basement and I haven’t seen it in over 20 years. Probably the same with hers.
She served in the military, in the reserves. Why are they harping on this so much.
I have no DD214 other than my release from active duty,
and reassignment to the National Guard.
The National Guard does not issue DD214’s.

The national guard may have different rules and regulations.
I was in the Navy Reserve for 2 years active duty and 4 years reserve.
I have the standard DD214 showing an honorable discharge.
I received a GI loan for our first house.
They paid for my master’s degree.
I got some type of loan assurance for our 2nd or 3rd home.
One of my BIL’s was in the Army reserve. 2 Years active and 1 of those years was in Nam. He got a VA loan on his home, which he bought after his service and still lives in.
He was exposed to Agent Orange in Nam and has received excellent health care.
He and I have used our DD214’s @ at our DMV’s to be classified as Veterans, which enables us to get many Vet. discounts at stores like HomeDepot. A Prime Member discount.
I am a member of the military px for active duty members and vets. I can order anything stocked in their on line catalog.
Apparently, the company which hired me out of active duty and employed me for decades got some type of brownie points for hiring me as a vet.
Greg Kelly and Sean Hannity sure do LOVE pro-late-term-abortion, pro-teen-trans-surgery, anti-2A, dual-citizen-Turkish-voting Dr. Oz. Question is, why?
I would much rather lose this senate seat with a true pro-life, pro-gun, ultra MAGA Christian like Kathy Barnette than a globalist-Marxist, Turkish-citizen candidate like Metmet Oz. However, she’ll win the general election if she gets through the primary given the red-wave that is coming.

I thought she’d already put out the NGB form but I could be wrong. I can understand how old papers like military records can be difficult to piece together... the only two things I have my military service from 68 to 71 are two DD214s. The rest I shitcanned a long time ago....

You always keep your DD214s. And you know where they are.
“ Discharged as an E1?”
I am retired USAF with 24 years service followed by 18 years as an Adjudicator for the Veteran’s Administration and I have reviewed literally thousands of DD-214s for the purpose of determining qualification for VA benefits so I certainly have a qualified opinion.
She was discharged at about four months when she was likely in Technical School to learn to be a Personnel Specialist. Either she was unable to learn, which is highly unlikely as she would have been transferred to a less demanding skill instead of being kicked out. My guess is she was not happy for whatever reason and was probably booted for what we use to call “inability to adapt” to military life. It is not considered an unfavorable or less than honorable discharge. Its better to boot those unable to live the military life early like this.
I have to correct my earlier statement,that she may have washed out of initial entry training.
That would be governed by Chapter 11 of AR 635-200, but the DD214 cites Chapter 4 (Discharge or release from active duty upon termination of enlistment and other periods of active duty or active duty for training).
The reenlistment code is NA, meaning that she was not separated, just released from Active Duty, as Reservists and National Guardsmen are routinely at the conclusion of training.
So bottom line, we would need to see her final DD214 to know what the real story is.
Surprised it’s not a PDF, like obama’s birth cert.
