When it comes to food, not every hot new trend ends up being a good idea — just crack open some old cookbooks and see how many savory Jell-O molds and mayonnaise salads you'd want to dine on today

That's a blast from the past
I remember those! Turkey and gravy was good, as was the salisbury steak. Drop it on the boiling water, and then open the bag, and pour on light bread. GOOD STUFF!
Fondue has it’s own restaurant chain - TheMeltingPot
That is my wife’s fav.
Tuna casserole with a TAB.
Do they still make Bosco? That was messy stuff.
Remember the Pop-Tarts competitor, Danish-Go-Rounds?
Yes, Bosco is still on the shelves.
SPAM is good with cloves and mustard sauce.
Don’t mess with Hawaiians and their SPAM.
“Wow! I forgot about those. I used to sort of maybe like them.”
For some reason I remember them pretty vividly. They were disgusting; the consistency was worse than the taste. And we ate every one of them. I guess because they were space food.
For some reason sales of these diet candies dropped off dramatically in, oh, say, the early ‘80’s.
Fish sticks?
Boxed man and cheese never went away. Nor did anything else on the list for that matter.
I like quiche too. And fondue. Remember “real men don’t eat quiche?” That was stupid.
Space sticks were nasty 🤢
I eat nature valley “trail mix” breakfast bars and a banana every morning.
I used to love the Sunshine Golden fruit biscuits. Sadly they don’t make them any longer.
It is obvious that most people replying to this post (and many, many others) need to learn how to reply so their post has meaning to me and others.
“Being the #forty or #fifthy post” and saying ‘boy I remember that and the next two...and my sister would sneek in the one after that had no meaning to me and probably nobody. Talk about not having a frame of reference to understand the starting point needs no explanation.
Although it requires extra time that only Reply #2 need not reference (another username or previous reply #)....I believe all others should reference SOMETHING so if I am reading “we” will know what they(you) are referencing. It really makes it difficult if they(you) respond to two or more ‘different somethings’ and I(we) know of neither.
Many, many times good material goes past me(us) because I(we) can’t follow.
Please help yourself when you have some great responses!
Freeper, you might want to check the FreeRepublic Tree Viewer addon out.
Boil in bags were awesome, and I would still eat them once in a while. If you have some leftover rice, spaghetti noodles or better yet Mashed potatoes? OH YEA, that is some quality grubbin’ especially when momma is out or visiting the kids.
