Harley-Davidson spin-out electric motorcycle brand Livewire has revealed the S2 Del Mar as its second model, with a very limited edition selling out in a matter of minutes. The full production version will follow for a tempting $15k price tag.
Harley-Davidson's Project Livewire electric motorcycle plans were first revealed way back in 2014, but it took another four years for the launch of a production-ready machine and almost another year before the ~US$30k ride went on sale.
The Livewire got a bit of a rebrand and a much lower price tag in mid-2021. The price of entry to the Livewire e-moto universe has been lowered yet again for the company's second model, the S2 Del Mar.
The Launch Edition has been limited to a production run of just 100 bikes, and availability was very short-lived indeed. It will come with exclusive graphics and paint, and will be available in "Jasper Gray or Comet Indigo."
The new electric motorcycle debuts Livewire's new scalable and modular ARROW architecture, where the proprietary battery, motor, charging and control systems make up much of the actual chassis structure.

Motorcycle ping!...................
Finally announced...
My team at a prior employer were working with H-D on this.
Upside of the HD going electric is that needless noise their bikes put out will finally come to an end.
I wish I hadn’t sold my *original* ‘36 Indian Chief, 10yrs ago.
Nah, they will just install speakers to make it sound like a real motorcycle
The full production version will follow for a tempting $15k price tag.
lol delusion
Who the hell dressed that model on the bike ?
HD bikes meet all applicable noise regulations when they leave the factory.
What the dealer and subsequent owners do them after is another story.
Why make a "gas tank" to paint when it doesn't have a gas tank?
What,..HD didn’t lose enough money on the first one?
Been riding for over 50 years. I’d take one for a test ride. Might be something to have if petroleum dries up. Be like driving a very fast scooter. Not much appeal really. Dont think they will sell well, but you never know.
“needless noise their bikes put out will finally come to an end.”
Is a song needless noise? The Harley sound is a song!
“Upside of the HD going electric is that needless noise their bikes put out will finally come to an end.”
That’s half the charm of them.. sport!
I still have my Indian Scout. You’d think I would be the enemy at Sturgis but you wont believe how many Indians were parked there during the weekend in 2017.
Put playing cards in the spokes.
“Upside of the HD going electric is that needless noise their bikes put out will finally come to an end.”
The sound is the actual differentiating factor for HD and is unique. I know that sound anywhere. The suits there tried to patent it but epic failed in court.
I never made it to Sturgis; wish I had, but something in my business always came up.
