Many House GOPers voted the other night to send $40 billion worth of "aid" to Ukraine.
I haven't checked but I'm guessing this was a supplemental which means that nothing was cut and this is extra borrowed money.
Surely this undermines the party's message on financial prudence and of the inflation problem as they have effectively voted to make it worse!
I presume this will have enough votes in the Senate and they will get their way.
My question is to conservatives who believe in America First where do we go from here?
It's very hard to just primary dozens & dozens of House Republicans and they know this…
Actually, the vote in the Senate will be interesting to watch but I guess the usual suspects will push it through.
I just hope there are consequences this time.
I know, many supposedly MAGA Republican congressmen voted for this in order to look tough on Russia.
Did China lend us the $$$ ?
Why should be consequences?
Helping poor people of Ukraine defend themselves?
US was so far far behind the allies with the help provided. We need to catch up!
The Fed will print the money and it will make inflation worse...
Which kind of undercuts their message to voters!
Haven't you heard? This is practically a holy war.
Ukraine is all a bunch of Nazis and baby rapers and devil worshippers.
I read it on the internet.
Besides, I turned against them for changing the name of
Kiev to Keev or Kyiv or Kevin or whatever the hell it is this week.
We stop looking to DC and start reconstructing our American form of government in pur own counties and states.
I wish I could be more optimistic, but it seems as if our eventual demise is baked in. One of two things will happen: the Russians will be pushed into launching nukes as a last resort, or we will wear the Russians down via the Ukrainians until they say 'uncle'.
In the first case we are toast, literally.
In the second case our elites will have learned the wrong lesson. By eliminating Russia as a threat, and presumably putting China on warning that they may as well have a paper tiger of a military, the US/EU will reassert itself as the lone superpower.
If the US/EU were essentially conservative in its outlook this would be a great thing. However, the US/EU is now fully progressive and woke. This will give them the green light to spread their CRT/LGBTQ+/Marxist agenda across the world. More immigration, more overspending, more indoctrination, more decadence and degeneration.
So either the frog is nuked or the frog is slowly boiled to death. I fear those are our only two options.
we here in central louisiana, in the near past, jusy voted ms letlow to congress, and the dumb bird voted yes!!
The US technically can't go bankrupt. States and counties can, so to prevent this they have borrowed and/or accepted grants from the Feds.
It will be difficult for states and localities to go their own way unless and until they stop sucking on the Federal teat. I fear that most states and localities, even the solid Red ones, love sucking on those massive teats.
We primary every RINO and fake-MAGA traitor in the House. They are up for election every 2 years. There needs to be a purge of these embedded democrat spies in the primaries this summer.
The Swamp isn't just going to surrender without a dirty fight, and the people must take it to them in the primaries.
This is the only way we get our country back.
If you feel passionately about it you should perhaps drop her a note.
I know it’s not a lot of money but it’s the principle.
How are activists meant to sell the message when the party votes like this?
Ukraine is only a stepping stone for Russia. Moldova, Romania, Poland and the Baltic’s are also needed as that cuts off the 9 historic invasion routes into Moscow.
So we either fight a proxy war in Ukraine, Fight WW3 in defense of Nato, or turn our backs on Europe and let Russia rule. China will then destroy Taiwan.
Sending weapons to Ukraine is relatively cheap. Thank Trump for actually starting meaningful aid (Javelins) in 2019.

I think it’s too late to get the ship turned around before it runs aground.
I think the questions are how bad will the collapse be, what’s the best way to navigate through it, was the collapse purposeful or did the managed decline just get out of hand, and what will coming out of the collapse look like and who is going to lead it?
I’m just talking about economic, domestic issues. The international chances for war are a wild card that could be thrown into the mix at any time.
By this Fall, there will be no denying that it’s falling apart.
I hope it’s possible but when they vote in unison like this it’s very hard to target them and would require a large scale effort.
Knocking off a senator is probably our best bet but even that is difficult enough.....
You’ve lost your mind FRiend this is borrowed money and it will make the inflation problem worse tell me how that is clever?
That's because most people who vote, don't watch over what is happening and just vote R or D. That and a lot of Rs are like McConnell and to some degree Trump now. "I want people who can win". "People who can win" often just have money and/or establishment backing. This is very evident in the PA Senate race right now. Oz is a flip flopping dual citizen liberal running as a repub. He'll denounce his Turkish citizenship IF ELECTED. Why not prove yourself beforehand??? Kathy Barnette seems like a good MAGA conservative but she lacks money and/or establishment backing and Trump endorsed Oz because he has name recognition and money which means "he can win".
My house rep voted for this $40 billion and probably hasn't even read the bill. He's a member of all the right organizations here locally. I doubt many people here like the idea of giving Ukraine $40 billion IF they even know about it and if they do, I doubt they'd bother or know how to look and see who voted for or against it. There's a libertarian running as a repub against my house rep but he has no money or connections and near zero name recognition so I doubt he has a chance. I'm going to vote for him in the primary but I'll be one of the few. Then I guess I'll vote for the current rep in the general. Any repub here is guaranteed to beat the dem because it's very red here.
Where do we go from here? Prepare for hard times ahead. We just hit $30 trillion in debt this year and will probably hit $31 trillion before the year's out. Unfunded Liabilities is $169 trillion. Sooner or later, the debt will come due.
Agree!
Easier said than done where I am in rural MO. It's a good ole boys network. They hardly even advertise. They're just known by the right people in the community and have the right connections and word spreads from there. The libertarian leaning repub that's running against my house rep doesn't even have a real website. He has a facebook page. LOL Meanwhile my existing house rep is a member of all the right organizations.
Jason Smith is a member of the Court Appointed Special Advocate Board, Cuba Chamber of Commerce, Grace Community Church, Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri State Bar Association, National Rifle Association, Salem Area Community Betterment Association Board and Salem Chamber of Commerce. He is also the president of the Salem Future Farmers of America Alumni Association.[3]
Great post your Rep should be hearing from you.
I know it may seem insignificant but it’s the principle of the thing.
As you say sooner or later there will be a tipping point. I wonder what it will be.
