Following a personal invitation from Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky, U2’s Bono and the Edge visited Kyiv Sunday to perform an acoustic concert in one of the city’s subway stations-turned-bomb shelters.
“The people in Ukraine are not just fighting for your own freedom, you are fighting for all of us who love freedom,” Bono told the audience, which included soldiers. “We pray that you will enjoy some of that peace soon.”
Bono and the Edge previously took part in Global Citizen’s “Stand Up for Ukraine” livestream, where the duo played a rendition of “Walk On” that addressed the invasion.
Don’t tell me. Let me guess. They sang “You’ve Got a Friend”?

What they NEED to do is hold a Farm Aid style fundraiser so those Ukranian farmers can get back on their feet, lest the rest of the world starve!
I mean, that’s what the Enemy Media has been telling me of MONTHS now. I’m going to STARVE if I’m not on the side of the Ukraine peoples, Right?

Bono sold his soul. He always had a knack for publicity, but he also used to take difficult stands. Then he caved in for abortion for Ireland. And he’s just been another whiny liberal ever since. Still, I’m surprised how crappy his singing has become. I guess I should admire that he went to a bomb shelter, but I just can’t.

They are truly gifted musicians and song writers (they are every bit as good live as their studio work), but are completely ignorant about everything else.
Send Bono, not bombs.
But what have they really done since Achtung Baby? Except for a few moments on Zooropa, not much.
